Guest guest
http://www.questdiagnostics.com/kbase/topic/medtest/hw207814/descrip.htm My cholestrol has always been low......158, I think was the last one I had.....it has been as low as 114......, I was found to be very deficient in good fats, so I have to be sure I get those... I highly recommend the Spectracell nutrient testing.... http://www.spectracell.com/micronutrient-testing-comprehensive-nutritional-panel/ There are foods you can eat that will help lower the cholestrol, just do a search....be sure you are getting the good fats, and efa's..... Even the kombucha and kefir will help lower it.... My heart trouble is not the normal kind......the lupus caused it..... it attacked all my internal organs...... Love you... Mine was insane the last time I checked. I have to definitely get that down now. However, my HDL (the good cholesterol) was high too! So, it wasn't all bad news. How about you? Guest guest
Patty.. I believe it's about an 8 hour ride to her office. If I get through the leg thing, I would imagine I should make it a priority to see her.. If the leg procedures are a success and my body has some level of stability so I can travel, then I would have to hire someone to drive me there (an expensive proposition) The guy I know charges me a fortune! I have to get back that same night because I have to give my cat her meds, my husband cant do it. Even if I was only gone one day, that would be ok I guess, could give them to her before I leave and maybe just be late on the next day's dose.. Keep at me if you have the strength to not let this go, because if I am strong enough for her to do it, it might bring me some better health which I would cut off an arm to have, I'm not kidding. I had a nice meltdown tonight told my husband I can't go on like this. I'm just too chemically sensitive and it makes so much sense to me now that I know about the capsules. Thanks Patty. Hugs, There would be nothing to frighten you if you refused to be afraid. Guest guest
~ Im wondering if Dr Kolb could remady both.....leg and capsules..... Just a thought....you might try writing her and getting her input... I wrote one of the girls that recently had the capsulectomy and asked her to write you. I hope her input was able to help you.... If you write Dr Kolb, she will respond. drkolb@... , or drkolb@... She is the only doctor that I have found that would be willing to do surgery on me, providing there is lung and heart clearance. Guest guest
hi lea; thanks for your info. and help. i think you mean aspirin is anti-inflammatory? why arent you able to take it because it is a blood thinner. yes, i wish i knew something better also - do you take fish oils, etc. or is that not strong enough? maybe in conjunction with? i read recently plavix actually can CAUSE strokes and heart attacks. plus a myriad of other symptoms, so hope she gets off it, but her main problem now is dizziness upon arising at any time.if you get a chance, let me know what a better blood thinner is if your dr. tells you one with less side effects. thanks for your concern, lea. hope you feel better too. gg From: leamary@...Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2011 12:22:02 -0700Subject: Re: Re: question about capsule removal GG, I am worried about your mom too, because there are a few lawsuits regarding Plavix. She should have her blood-thinner changed, and you should question her doctor....bless her heart. I know that there is a better, newer blood-thinner on the market, but I forget what it is called. If I could just eat the foods that would make my blood thinner, I would do it in a minute. Aspirin is one drug that I am not allowed to take, because it is an inflammatory drug. We are hoping that when I see my hematologist, he will allow me to stop the Coumadin, but we must be careful. Take care...love always....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Re: question about capsule removal , Getting the capsules removed should be able to be done in the doctors clinic, like Dr. Kolb's. Guest guest
Oh,Dear GG: I cannot take Aspirin, because it could cause severe bleeding while on Coumadin. It is a mystery to me; however, my hematologist knows that I need a blood thinner. I am not on any fish oils; however, we are going to ask our doctor which ones are best. Honey, the new blood-thinner is called PRADAX; however, it might not be to correct drug for your mom. It would be best to talk to her doctor, because she should not be having dizzy spells...bless her heart. My sister has been on Coumadin for years, and she has no symptoms. Thank you for your support...love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Re: question about capsule removal , Getting the capsules removed should be able to be done in the doctors clinic, like Dr. Kolb's. Guest guest
Hi Dede, She is the one I would go see.. I think she's about 8 hours from me. I am so not able to take a trip like that now. Being chemically sensitive like this, I can't ride in the car with someone, I only go in the car with hubby who is very fragrance free of course because he has to live with me. When I take these medical trips, I have to hire someone to drive me, and I do have a person (expensive).. but I have to be separate from him in the car because of the fragrance issues. So we put a cap on our truck and I kinda crawl in there on the seat we installed inside. We took a seat out from our older van so it's gassed out and not toxic. With the leg being the way it is, and the injury a few month ago to my body from the accident I had in the house), I just couldn't maneuver my body to do it. That's how I traveled for my last medical procedure out of state.. three days in the back of that thing each way. But I got there and back. We have tried so hard to make a trailer for me but I never tolerate anything we've made except this cap deal. So typical of the MCS situation, I've met so many people with the same dilemma. The leg has an insufficiency in the vein.. I have to get that vein removed or a sclerosing agent with the laser...along with the adjoining varicose veins..because he can't do one without the other (being they are connected to the bad vein). I have another appt with him the end of the month to discuss some less toxic options so will have to see what he says. He is willing to talk to my doctor, so if need be that would be my next step if this isn't going to work out. I really would like to see Dr Kolb in person. I think she should see my breasts/chest and tell me what she thinks. I'd like to have the opportunity to really have some time talking to her.... and an exam.... showing her everything I take (supplements) and all the medical protocols. Has anyone been to her office .. do you know if they keep it somewhat fragrance free? Some places I just can't go in at all, others I do , but I pay dearly afterward for an unknown amount of time depending.. sometimes I am not too bad off, just never know until I open the door.. I'd like to try and get this vein procedure done here, if I recover from that then I want to contact Dr Kolb. I have so had it with being like this. I would have to find out what is involved in a surgery for me, and I would also be alone..have to hire that guy to take me and bring me back. It would be hairy I think.. because of the MCS of course. But if we can work out all the details when I am past the leg issue, then it's certainly worth a shot, as I need to take that next step if able. Yes, she wrote me thank you ..as well as Dr Kolbs contact info. Thank God for her from what I hear. Hugs, There would be nothing to frighten you if you refused to be afraid.
