The bun has much more sugar in it than a " normal " bun. A regular hamburger bun has about 120 calories - a Burger King bun has 320!! The patty has a lot more fat in it (although no extra ingredients). 1/4 lb. of regular ground beef has 180 calories (13 g. fat). A Whopper patty has 260. Their cheese seems a little high too - 90 calories worth. I'm telling you, it's a scary site, but quite, quite educational! www.burgerking.com
Guest guest
beat fast food... if you must order a fast food burger (or item) don't bite into the whole burger -- cut it in half and throw away the other half before starting to eat... helps to tear off the top bun or most of it and throw that out too before starting to eat -- fast food usually means we are in a hurry and to hurry and eat a burger means we can eat the whole thing in under 15 minutes without " realizing " what we've done ('specially if driving) so get rid of the most part of it right away.... ordering extra tomato or pickle on the side replaces french fries for an " on the side " item and remember DON'T drink!!! hugz, ~denise > I'm telling you, it's a scary site, but quite, quite educational! > www.burgerking.com
Guest guest
Hey, thanks! Every time I make a hamburger on the grill at home, I worry that I'm consuming some humongous amount of calories. It just didn't seem logical. I buy super low fat meats, and usually don't eat the roll anyway, so I guess I should stop worrying about it. But will definitely keep in mind about the difference in fast food burgers. I guess that is why the fast food burgers usually go down easier than the grilled ones....lots more fat to slide down with, and I don't dump on fats. (I can still only eat 1/2 of a fast food burger anyway, if that. I usually share one with my 4 yr old, when she bugs me to go there.) Thanks, again, for the info.
