Guest guest
Hi, I use E-wax in my scrubs. This causes it to thicken a bit so the oil doesn't separate from the salt. It makes it kind of whipped. Also rinses off nicer with a less oily residue to deal with ) Sayre 's Body Care >From: " blackburnju " <blackburnj@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Silica Gel >Date: Thu, 04 Dec 2003 22:05:02 -0000 > >Finally got around to making my sugar scrub using the silica gel. Guest guest
Hi, do you use ewax in addition to the silica gel or in it's place? And, if you don't mind sharing , how much (%)ewax do you use? That sounds very intresting. TIA, Dwana
Guest guest
Dear Taniel, I am *very* interested in the silica gel. That's what you put into body scrubs to make the texture better, right? [Does anyone have any good recipes? I'll have to search the Internet!] I'll e-mail you about it privately .... thanks! nne http://bathtubjunkie.star-shaped.org/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . Guest guest
Taniel, you can find silica gel at wegmans in the pet section for 4 pounds for I think it was 7 or 8 bucks. Shaye silica gel Good morning everyone! Is anyone interested in buying some bulk silica gel? I found a supplier, but I don't need 22 pounds! The price per lb. comes to $3.75 plus Priority shipping from zip 14450. To Die For has it for $7.50 per pound or $6.00 per pound for 5 pounds or more. If you're interested, please email me and I'll fill you in with more details. Thanks! Taniel
Guest guest
Wow! We don't have a Wegman's in this area, but ... do you think that stores like PetSmart would have it, too, Shaye? Thanks, nne -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . Guest guest
They probably do, but this is not powdered type. These are the crystals. I wonder if Taniel is talkign about powdered? I cant imagine these in scrubs. They can be used in drying boxes or those neckwraps. Other grocery stores may carry it as well. Shaye > Wow! Guest guest
I would never take the silica gel, if the derivative is from silicon rocks or quartz. I've seen that on the shelves at the health food store. (I just have to ask myself, " Who eats rocks? " ) What I took instead of the silica gel is the herb horsetail. It is high in natural silica--at least this is a plant food. Here is some info on it: http://www.nutrasanus.com/horsetail.html Just my 2 cents! What kind of stomach troubles are you having and do you have implants? Patty > > Hi!
