Guest guest
Vera, I love the poem. I printed it out so I can keep it! I also loved seeing your garden. It is beautiful! What are the yellow flowers? I went to see the Plant man and bought 8 canna lilies for $2. What a steal. They are so pretty. They are not blooming yet and not sure they will this year so I don't know what color they are but I don't care I love all the colors. Vera, just curious does your flowers bloom all year in California? I didn't know if you have seasons or not. Do you have lantana where you live? I have a bunch of it coming back out. I decided to do more of the perennials instead of the annuals in case I get to where I can't plant again. I just have to be patient with them though when it comes to weeding so I don't weed them out!hehe God bless, Belinda > If I did this right ( you know that big IF) this should be a picture of my > garden. Guest guest
Vera and Belinda, I hope you don't mind my two cents, but, I've just completed putting in my water garden in my back yard. Pictures will follow if you wish. I could only work onit about two to threee hours at a time then have to take a long rest. Want to put in flower beds next. Anything to keep the mind going and gardening is a great way to do so. Living in Las Vegas is quite a challenge., Peas and beans must be set out by Feburary, Very hardy plants throughout the summer with another crop (if we're lucky) in the laate fall (November-December). Personnally, I've had zero luck with vegetables. Thought I'd write about it today. Guest guest
Ray, We would love to see your water garden. Gardens are always cheerful and a break from regular items on the list. ) I had prickly pear cactus in my rock garden until we had a cold winter. That ought to grow in your area. Radishes and corn seem to do well here in hot spells, but need lots of water. Guest guest
Dr Ray, I would love to see pictures of your water garden! I bet it is beautiful! I have always wanted one but some reason never got around to it. I have watched alot of gardener shows on them though. I have never been too good at vegtables either but I do have alot of luck with most flowers. I am trying now to use mostly perinneals (sp?) since I dont know how long I will be able to put annuals in the ground. My gardens haven't come in full force yet so to send pictures would be fruitless. I have a internet friend that lives in Las Vegas and she said they use alot of desert flowers in their yard and rock art. Is that what you are planning also? It is so interesting to see how different regions do their flower gardens. I am so glad you sent a message on this and can't wait to see the pictures!
