I purposely choose something on the menu that is high in protein and low in carbs. I often ask if I can have an extra vegetable in lieu of a salad, because if I eat much of the salad I get too full. I eat what I want and then take home the rest and eat it the next day for lunch. I never ask for small portions or the kiddie menu. I've never had anyone ask me why I'm not eating my whole meal. Sometimes I will get a piece of meat, like prime rib, that is so big it will last for 3 meals. I've never been to a restaurant where I couldn't figure out something good to eat that basically follows my high protein-low carb diet and that includes Italian, Mexican, and other ethnic restaurants. If I'm really in a hurry and out and about and need protein I have eaten either 's chili or Burger King's double cheeseburger. Sometimes I even eat the whole burger -- the buns on those are very small compared to other fast food buns. I'm sure that isn't the best choice out there, but it is better than nothing.
