Guest guest
Aletta, Thanks for the update on Trimebutine / Modulon. Neither Peg or I have any experience with this med. However I noted the following information about the antiserotonin activity in the patient. I would think a doctor would want to monitor that activity in Shy Drager / MSA / Lewy Body Disease patients taking that medicine. A number of meds taken by such patients, including anti depressants, will act on the same function. Keep us posted on how the med helps. Peg and Jim from Guam ****************** 2. MECHANISM OF ACTION Trimebutine is a noncompetitive spasmolytic agent. It has moderate opiate receptor affinity and has marked antiserotonin activity especially on 'mu' receptors. The mechanism of action appears to be poorly understood since reports in the literature and product monograph are scant. *************** ******************************** *** Peg & Jim *** # 29 Cruz Heights *** Ipan-Talofofo, Guam 96930-4736 *** USA *** *** Note: Guam is 15 hours ahead of *** Eastern Standard Time (EST). *** 14 ahead of EDT. ********************************
