Guest guest
Dear Mamie, Keep taking all the positives you can get while you can. That IS great news. One thought: Be very careful about the driving. In our case, Terry took herself out of driving long before we knew what going on. This may sound like a downer, but better safe than sorry - especially with the good progress. Good luck and God speed! Message: 16 Date: Fri, 3 May 2002 21:06:48 EDT From: MBur234@... Subject: Good news Dear Friends, While I am learning what MSA/SDS has in store for my husband Jim, at least at the present time we have an encouraging situation. At his neuro appt. yesterday, the doc was very pleased at how well Jim is doing now and said come back in six months rather than three as the last two times. Sinemet seems to have helped greatly--undergirded with lots of prayer! The neuro also agreed with the gastroenterologist's assessment that Jim's PEG tube should come out--he has been eating for a long while now. That appointment is set for next Tuesday. The upturn began in Jan., and in mid-Feb. Jim started going back to work for half a day, driving himself again for the first time in six months. His stamina is low, and half a day at work really tires him out, but we're taking everything positive we can get! Earlier, I had posed the question here about whether the tube might be taken out and Bill suggested not to do it. We know we may have to face inserting the tube at some time down the road, but for now this seems the right thing to do. Is this sneaky or what--telling all of you about this while Bill is away at the conference!?! Yeah, I know, he will still probably read this, and any comments will still be welcome. Anyway, that's our story for now. Blessings, Mamie Sennewald Charlottesville, Virginia
