Guest guest
Sally, My mother Joyce (71, died 11/5/00) had lots of trouble with shoes for different reasons: hard to get on and tie, and feet would swell. She ended up with sneakers (are they called running shoes now??) with Velcro. Even then, she needed help. Also, she had several sizes within her range to accommodate the swelling. There was a New Balance store nearby and she often waited for sales. Good luck, Debbie
Guest guest
Greetings Sally, Being a guy, I am not too concerned with fashion. So, a pair of hiking boots are VERY helpful for several reasons. First, they seem to help me control the edema (swelling) in my feet. Second, they help stabilize me feet. That's good since my balance is so poor. Finally, for me, they seem to help reduce times when my ankles suddenly collapse. I have no idea why the latter occurs. But it does more frequently than before. Regards, =jbf= B. Guest guest
-Hi Sally, It is nice to meet you. I wear New Balance running shoes. I think they support better than the walking shoes. I have a high arch and this works better for me. She would have to see which would work better for her according to the arch in her foot. I can't wear anything but these now because of swelling and support they give me. The higher the number on the New Balance shoes also are the better shoe. I didn't know it made a difference but my father wears them also because of arthritis in his back and hips and he said it made a big difference. They aren't cheap but you often get what you pay for and I have kept mine for 2 years and still don't need a new pair. When I was able to walk a lot the same was still true. I hope this helps. Guest guest
, I also have plantar fasiatias(what a trip it is on walking) I also use new balance and SAS walking shoes with things that the Dr. gave me they are like a rubber like thing with raised arch supports I also wear a AAA shoe so I really have a hard time finding sneakers that will fit me without my foot coming right out of the shoe.
