Guest guest
Following is a repeat; I took out the italics so it would show on the digest: I have two bits of personal experience - one with myself and one with Terry. Terry had some unique foot problems and now wears shoes made by P W Minor and Sons, Inc. It is sold in specialty shoe stores. Terry got hers from the Prosthetics and Orthotic - sp? - Clinic at the University of Virginia Medical System for around $150. It is very well made and quite comfortable. I wear a mid range New Balance shoe and have for years. Recently, mu physical rehab doc recommended I add " Powerstep " insoles for additional support - these are about $25 - 30. I have found them to be very comfortable and supportive. I have plantar fasciaitis - sp? - in one foot. I hope this helps. I have a high arch and this works better for me. She would have to see which would work better for her according to the arch in her foot. I can't wear anything but these now because of swelling and support they give me. The higher the number on the New Balance shoes also are the better shoe. I didn't know it made a difference but my father wears them also because of arthritis in his back and hips and he said it made a big difference. They aren't cheap but you often get what you pay for and I have kept mine for 2 years and still don't need a new pair. When I was able to walk a lot the same was still true. I hope this helps.
