Guest guest
Liz, You're lucky to have a friend like that. They are few and far between and when you find one it's a blessing. Good luck on your test. L -- today Well, today is my upper endoscope and I have 50 minutes to drink coffee. Yikes! Special beans today. Wish me good results and hope that I'm still loaded when I get home so I can call Deb and babble to her like she does to me. It's hilarious! She won't get on a plane to come out here and yell at me for saying this, so I'm not to worried. We understand each other even when one of us is out of it, which makes for a great friendship. I hope you don't give them to much trouble and they do get your strange sense of humor or you may be in big trouble. Best of luck Toots and I'm praying for all good news. 1:45 Central Time and no call yet. Love Ya. Deb

Guest guest
Dearest Faith, You will probably feel worse before getting better. I wouldn't blame the digestive enzymes too early. They will stir things up for awhile because your body is getting more nutrients. Hang in there and wait 3 days before you decide to change your enzymes. If you are taking too many you will get a burning sensation in your stomach, at which time you need to cut down on the amount taken. Take more coconut oil if you feel weak. Luv & hugs, Bee > > Today was not a good day. I got up around 4am to go to the bathroom and felt very much off balance while walking. When I woke up again around 7, my head wasn't right. Then the fatigue set in and my legs have been weak all day. I don't think the digestive enzyme I am on is the right one for me. I seem to get a bit bloated after eating and have some pinchy annoying feeling in my large intestine. Now I just feel like I need to burp and can't. I am taking homeopathic anti- fungals and they are doing their job making me a bit sick too. I desided to go with the homeopathic as they are more gentle than the products suggested here. I need the most gentle I can find.

Guest guest
My rib cage hurts a lot on the left side at the bottom. Kind of annoying isn't it. I have never figured out why it's doing that but I think that the pain is actually coming from my spine and is just being projected to the rib area as there isn't any reason why it should hurt. However it could be muscular or nerve pain so who knows. > > Today not only I have pains in my right shoulder where the lump is on > my back but my ibs is killing me to. Guest guest
Ok I had to re-read your previous messages for the full descriptions. I am 48 years old. I had surgery three times now but I still have a significant hump on my back and I am twisted towards the left side which puts a lot of pressure on my left lung. I have always assumed, and have been told by a neurologist, that because of the twists, hump, and curve that the nerves and muscles are strained through daily activity. Since they are not in the right positions to start with this makes them them stretch leading to pain... as the neurologist described it... it's a traction effect on the nerves and muscle system... which causes the rib pain. It's just something I haven't given much thought to since I have always had the problem.

Guest guest
Angie........ she is still learning the routines, and testing to see what she can get away with. This is soooooooo typical, but frustrating at the same time. So, turn it around and use it to your advantage....... document this as a reason that she needs a 1:1 to assist her...... the teacher can't hang out and try to coax her out of the cafeteria, right? If she had a 1:1, it could make this (and all) transitions better for Sydnie. I too find that I get more frustrated when does things that call attention to her differences. At this point, she's oblivious, but at some point, I'm hoping that she will understand that some of her behaviors make other kids think she's wierd or bad (you know how quick kids judge!), and maybe she will try to change them. For at this age, it was staying out on the playground and not coming in..... even in kindergarten, the other kids knew that you HAD to come in when the whistle blew, and that was still out there, running away from Mrs. M (the 1:1). Hang in there! , mom to (10), (8 DS), and Sammy (7) Angie Tate wrote: > Well today was better than yesterday but not exactly good. Guest guest
honey maybe they havn't got your dosages right yet. Hang in there maybe they will increase them or change them so you can feel better. I have been on just about everything out there 1 of the 3 I am on doesn't work great but I am looking into finding a new DR. Maybe a new one will take me off the one that doesn't work and put me on 1 that will. Blessed be, Today Hi there friends, First I wanted to thank those who responded to my last e-mail. I will probably not get to today, but plan on answering those e-mails. I do appreciate them. It is just so hard right now for me to be on line. My consintration level is not that great. I did tell my mom today how I feel about what the doctor said about prolonging my life and how I really feel about it. I asked her to be thinking about how if any way that I could get my mind changed around about it all. I don't really expect her to come up with an answer. I'm not seeing a therapist right now. Maybe I should be, but don't think I can afford it right now. There is a place here in town that I might look into that might be able to help me with therapy. I do see my psychiatrist next Thursday. I sure hope he doesn't feel the need to stick me back in the hospital. Got to go. Don't know what I was about to say. from MO.

Guest guest
Hi Lynda: I have heard a few others say their children have had various positive benefits from depakote. Cymbalta is a newer SSRI that is mostly used for relief of nerve pain because it restores the balance of both norepinephrin and serotonin. For Noah, the benefit has primarily been in about a 75% reduction in OCD's... He was sleeping great for about two years and now he is waking between 4-5 am to go to the bathroom and he is having trouble falling asleep, as well. I am now sitting outside his room both at the beginning of the evening and whenever he wakes up at night to make him feel secure and to also stop him from waking my husband...He has started falling asleep again for about an hour and as far as falling asleep at the beginning of the evening...he is falling asleep faster and checking on my presence less...he knows I will be leaving once he falls asleep...I will continue to try this and fade myself in a few weeks. I may leave his big bear in my place, of course, letting him know that bear will be taking over... I don't know if it will work for the middle of the night waking up time.... Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeldegskb@... today Ellen,From about 15 months of age until about age 4, didn't say any words. He would babble to himself but no intentional communication via spoken word. AT age 4 he began to be able to imitate sounds. At age 5 we started the picture exchange communication system with him and he took right to it. However it is limited. We would make him say the words for what he was asking for when he handed us a picture. We faded the pictures after awhile when he was able to say the words. The thing about at this point that has continued until today is that he speaks primarily in one or two word sentences and these are confined to food or activities that he wants.....no commenting, no ability to say how he is feeling, etc. We added sign language to his repertoire a couple years ago hoping that it might help him to speak in longer sentences and expand the number of things he can speak about, but it had little effect. He does use sign some while he is talking, but still he is quite limited. We just put together a manual communication board at school for him to start using so we'll see what effect this has. is a very visual person. If you can figure out how to teach him visually, he will learn fast. But when it comes to spoken language, there is some block in his brain that is causing him great difficulty in expanding beyond where he is. With this communication system we are just starting with him, it has the advantage of being visual and it will help him to prompt himself, so we'll see. was in a one on one classroom setting from kindergarten through 5th grade. It was just him and his personal aide for the most part, and their program was directed by me through our ABA consultant. I finally gave up on that as it wasn't producing the kind of results we wanted and he is now in a special ed class with 8 other kids. Many are quite a bit lower functioning than him, some are higher functioning in terms of language and social skills, but not necessarily academics. I think it is a good classroom for him to be in for the most part because he likes being with other kids, and he likes the variety of things they do in that class. He has a lot of OCD issues and many routines that need to be followed. He definitely has an idea of how everything should go in his head, and if reality does not match up, he gets upset. I am interested in the Cymbalta you mentioned. What is that? I have been trying a combination of inositol P6 and GABA for the past two months in high doses to see if it has an impact on OCD, but I haven't noticed anything really. goes to sleep easily but wakes up anywhere from 1:00-3:00am. It used to be very disruptive. Finally out of desperation a few months ago I took him into the guest room and laid down with him and he went back to sleep. Guess what.....we are still doing that every night! You say you'll never do these things but then you do so that everyone can get a good night's sleep. I am sure it is part habit now on his part, but last night my husband was out of town so I just let sleep with me and I noticed that he has a very restless part of the night around 2:30. They say that is when your liver is detoxing or going through some change, and that it can wake you up. At any rate, I am VERY interested in whether anyone else has any good remedies for keeping children asleep once they are asleep.Lynda
Guest guest
Have you tried melatonin - or better yet - time released melatonin? Guest guest
We are working on the behavior mod regarding Noah's sleep issues...those incidental/coincidental learned behaviors are tricky to extinguish, but it can be done... It takes time and loads of patience. As for melatonin, we have never tried it and I would be curious. The 50 of seroquel and the 1 mg of clonipin is useful but probably not as safe as melatonin. Thank you so much for you thoughts. I will let you know if we try melatonin. He is just getting stabilized on Cymbalta, so I dare not try anything new or different. His behaviors, other than sleep, and his cognitive abilities are the best, I think, that we have ever experienced. I am holding my breath!
