Guest guest
Aletta, You may be right about IBS, but, it is the most common diagnoses made by general practioners in the US to date. I know what your talking about, I've had it for about 20 years. God Bless, Judy & Jim Stark Re: laxative That product was not even a little helpful; I was diagnosed with IBS (which was no doubt even then MSA realted); the nerves controlling shincster activty are affected by MSA and are for week on end in painful spasm, not allowing for even the passage of gas - or coexisting with seperate bowel spasms; Psyllium the active ingredient in Metamucil ferments and causes painful gas, the only product which does not do that is Citrucel. I could try drinking gallons of pulpy orange juice -but I already know that's not going to happen. One dose of metamucil expands my abdomen 3" within hours and may take a very long time (days) to dissapate. excuse the spelling, but I do get tired - my head hurts - i'm feeling mighty lowAt 5/27/02 06:24 PM Monday, you wrote: Aletta, Okay here is a bulk forming laxitive that is available in Canada: http://www.metamucil.com/ Take care, Bill Werre -------------------------------------------- Aletta Mes wrote: I was at that site yesterday and forwarded the website address to the group (around midnight last night). Purchasing on-line requires a credit card, something poor people don't usually have (I certainly don't). I have telephoned GlaxoWelcome in Richmond, BC, but they have yet to get back to me. The last Xray of my gut, showed how badly something has to be done. Last month I spent $70 dollars (almost 10% of my monthly total budget) on laxatives, to no avail. Taking Deb up on this may be my only hope, if I can get the customs thing worked out. I haven't a clue why BC is the only province that the product is not available. Many things are not available that would help. However it states "This site is intended for U.S. residents only." Under contact us it has an email form to ask questions.
