Guest guest
We are PROS at self-flagellation, are we not? Even though I've had years of peace, providing I steer clear of Peeps, I still can whup myself for that one, every time Peep crosses my mind, for the crimes in the past, the potential crimes in the future. Hey, I'm good at it, why not? What amazes me to no end, though, is my desire for knowledge to keep myself healthy. I NEVER felt this way before. Maybe it was the hopelessness of yo-yo dieting, the lack of support, like we have here or that I'm just getting older and more aware of my health, but whatever it is, it's a good thing. in NJ

All things considered, and looking at the big > picture.........? > > Carol A I feel I have to work just as hard at this as I have any other diet. The only difference being that this *works*! I've always maintained that I can have all the self~control in the world if something *works*! If it doesn't work...then why bother after a few months of self~deprivation, and no results. That was the story of my life...I feel the surgery simply evened the playing field for me, and I am probably more like a normal person, processing my food more normally. So now, I eat tiny bits of food, and bypass most of it...and can maintain my weightloss. Before, I could eat tiny bits of food, and absorb every last nutrient out of it...and pack it on as fat. Ugh! That was frustrating. So if you are equating *easy* with *works*, then I am with you....but really *easy*? It's not. I work at it. Of course, all those other times I was a lot younger, and so it seems the weight came off quicker. But it does seem easier to stick with it, and maybe that's bcuz I feel like I've got a fightin' chance THIS time........

So my efforts are rewarded. I think we work just as hard to lose as we ever did...the operative word here is...Success! I'm happy. Anyone that says we do it the easy way, are IMO a bit off in the head. We are just used to not getting, or giving ourselves credit for what he have accomplished. I think we all deserve a pat on the back for a job well done...and we need those affirmations on a daily basis, I truly believe it keeps me straight.
