Guest guest
Marilyn in TN, the class was put on at the local hospital by two cardiac rehab nurses The manual used was Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Conditions. By Kate Lorig ( & others). They had a well planned program, plenty of discussion and some homework. It didn't cost a thing, the Arthritis Center let us check out a book and relaxation/visualization tape. These programs often aren't well publicized. In " 88 I followed an I Can Cope series while taking chemo, it was put on by two nurses who later became professional counselors. In '96, I went to KC for a second opinion when a scan showed a metastases on my lung. They encouraged me to sign up for a Cancer Wellness program that a surgical nurse put together and presented it to various hospitals. It was fantastic! I have learned wonderful coping skills from programs like this. Dodie in MO
Guest guest
Dodie, How do you find out about these courses? Do you think they are in every state. My daughter-in-law is interested in knowing. My oldest son (23 yr old) got married today and I became a mother in law. I also became a grandmother because my new daughter in law has 2 sons. She and her sons are a real blessing to me. She wants to learn now how she can take care of me when and if the time comes. You can't be more blessed than that.
