<< I do like the idea of a good tasting chewable. While they are at it....how

about a coffee or chocolate flavored barium...or that crap they give us for

a CT scan. Make that taste like Choc Whey stack!! I'd be all over that!

Sue and Ceep....I don't have any miracles for you, but maybe a bit of good

news? Centrum now makes a chewable for adults. It's orange flavor, kinda

creamy, more like a dreamsicle taste. Not bad and probably more suitable for

us...tastes better to me than Fred or Bugs Bunny ever did.

I take the store-brand generic version of Centrum (I take two a day) and they

seem to be working okay. I've had some of the typical swings for gastric

bypass patients (low B12, low iron, low calcium) so I supplement those on top

of the multi.

Nope, they don't smell like Flintstones. I won't promise you they smell like

oranges either, but they don't smell bad. I got mine at Walmart. And

so far, it's the only place I've seen them.

Ceep,

After about 6 months of chewing the heads off Fred and Barney, the thought

of chewables just nauseated me. At that time my surgeon said it was ok to

take a multivitamin with iron and minerals. Since then I've been taking 2

Walgreen's multivits or Centrum A-Z if it's on sale. No problem in the

" normal " vitamin department.

I do like the idea of a good tasting chewable. While they are at it....how

about a coffee or chocolate flavored barium...or that crap they give us for

a CT scan. Make that taste like Choc Whey stack!! I'd be all over that!

Sue

is it ok to take " centrum a-z " as the daily multi vit? I mean, do those tabs

dissolve properly for an RNY? and not like just stick around in chuncks in

intestine? or lay in pouch undisolved?

I wish somebody would make some good-tasting chewables. Cherry, for

instance.

Grape blag-p-tooie, citrus, blag-ewww. (grin) Or, wait, you know like those

flavored jelly beans-- mmmm, buttered popcorn, mmmmm spearmint, mmmmm

coconut, well maybe not coconut, but cocoa, now there's the ticket. mmmmm

dark dutch chocolate vits..... mmmmmm

okay enough of that

(grin)

love,

ceep

I take the mega-multivitamin from GNC. It's loaded with what we need and

comes in a powdered capsule, so dissolves very quickly. Of course the multi

is not enough for us, but it's a good start to the day!

Thanks Michele, appreciate the info; Just wanted to say that, erg, Like DONT

TRY THIS AT HOME. Sue shot me an email about 'melting' the vit tab in a glass

of water to see how long it took to dissolve. Okay, centrum a-z takes a

couple minutes to dissolve. I look in cup. there is it all grainy like pink

sand at the bottom. Great. Fine.

half hour later, i take great big HONKING drink out of same glass

accidentally (It is one of those big opaque 16 oz plastic cups) Oh man !

Double p-tooie! Centrum a-z I can tell you honestly tastes worse than 3 day

old road kill left in the hot sun and run over by 18 wheelers that have been

driving through the dump. (dont ask)-grin
