Guest guest
I " unsubbed " from yoga classes today. Just have had enuf. I'm miserable for days after each one, mainly from back pain. I have arthritis of the spine and degenerative disc disease. Been sitting here thinking: how come I've got this? My dex report said I have better than average bone density. I would have thought that gave me some protection from these problems. No? Carol A

Carol A ************************************************** Carol~ My spine showed " fine " on the dexa~scan, it couldn't be used as an indicator, because it was so full of calcification due to osteoarthritis. My bone scan lady is a sharpy and does the hip and wrist besides, and it showed osteopenia in both places, thus my diagnosis. The spine only " looks " good from the outside...it ain't so good in the inside. It's loaded with arthritis...as are my knees and hands. So glad to have the weight off of these places! Guest guest
Just make sure you are getting more than your spine analyzed. Your hip and possibly your wrist are good indicators. Not just one...but several places should be scanned. Hope they are doing this for you...if not...go somewhere else! I was getting a wrong reading before even on my hip...the tech was putting the " box " that was read by the computer in the wrong place...and it was reading part of my pelvis into my hip reading...and giving a false okay. You'd think the radiologist would catch this...as when it was pointed out to me...it was plain as day what had happened. You don't just go from super bones to osteopenia in a year. That lab gave bad reports twice in a row....I was so glad to finally find a good one! Even though the results weren't so happy, at least I know for sure what is going on...and what I need to do to address the situation. Ask questions...definitely...ask lots of questions. Ask how arthritis affects the readings on the back...Make sure that only the neck of the femur is being scanned and not anything else. A wrist scan along with the others is also helpful. Ask for these things. Regards~ ¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- Jacque -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* www.jacquemiller.gasupusa.com Discount Gasoline! Save 21% with a Costco-like membership! Get their response. If they give you a blank stare like they don't get it...then I'd worry. Most of the time, they get it..and will reassure you of their good procedures.
