Guest guest
Nobody knows what works. Not laymen, not professionals. That's why even the pros not motivated by financial gain disagree so often..We are all trying to find our way however we can by trying things others suggest to see what suits us best. If some people try to shut down others when they disagree about methods, then others of us will not have the benefit of that input, and it may have been the very thing that put us on our path to a healthy life. Who would have known vowing only to wash my hair at the gym and no place else would have succeeded in getting me to the gym 5x a week, when all my resolutions of 25+ years has failed before? Turning off the TV, going to bed at 9 and waking up at 5, going to a morning meditation meeting at 6am (I would NEVER have imagined getting up early for ANY reason!!) and yes, it is a 12 step meeting, having a protein shake in the morning instead of skipping breakfast...these all work for me personally. May sound silly or offend some, but so what? My approach is two pronged. One is changing the day to day physical habits, the other is changing my behaviors and expectations through emotional and spiritual growth. (And please, don't confuse spiritual growth with religion. They are apples and oranges.) I welcome all input except that which comes from intolerance and anger, which thankfully I can delete.
