Guest guest
Your solution sounds interesting, I hope it works. My husband, Ralph, used several different types of braces but in time there was the problem of his not being able to move his head in any direction. It was impossible for anyone else to move it either. He head was so heavy. There were times when I would try to adjust the position of his head and it was impossible because it was " frozen " in place. He would cry out because it hurt so bad. Other times he could straighten it up. But after a while it was back down. Dr. said it was not because the neck was not strong, it was due to the lack of control of the muscles and reflexes due to the illness and lack of control by the brain to make it all work. The tilt of his head affected his balance too. I say, if it works for you, go for it. All of us have had to make adjustments in suggestions we get for our own care giving. As you have probably heard, no two cases are alike and no two care givers have the same tasks. God bless you as you do your best.
