Guest guest
Just another sick example of the extent the government is willing to go to cover-up and " prevent " vital research from benefitting the lyme community!!!! This really ticks me off!!! Carol aka dizz [ ] Interesting..... I take care of a 96 yr old man who is in the last stages of his life. He had always wanted to donate his body at death so that others would benefit from what he no longer needed. Since he is too old to donate for transplants, I looked into a company here in AZ who takes donations for medical studies. Here's the interesting part. They will take his tired, emaciated 96 yr body but will not take people who have infectious diseases including HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Creuetzfeldt-Jakob Disease, Lyme Disease or Tuberculosis. And Cancer would not rule out donation!! Two things hit me..... - I hate to be considered no good even to science upon my death. How bad is that! - Aren't there studies going on that Lyme patients bodies can be used to help the future patients of this dreaded disease?? If anyone knows about that I would fill out the forms to be sure I can be of help to future generations. Thank you! Ann Prow aprow@... Guest guest
I prefer to think that the bureaucrats are stupid and therefore not doing anything with intent mainly because I don't think they are smart enough to form intent. I know I am probably wrong but it salves my mind to think them stupid rather than malicious, it keeps me from going postal! Dave Re: [ ] Interesting..... Guest guest
Ann, This is done to protect medical students who will be using the body to practice on. Infectious diseases and inexperienced students don't mix so well. Unless the body donation goes to a specific group for a specific study, most bodies donated to science help students become doctors (one use is Gross Anatomy class). This is an acknowledgment that Lyme disease can be transmitted even after death. Robynn [ ] Interesting..... I take care of a 96 yr old man who is in the last stages of his life. Guest guest
Thanks for clearing this one up, Robynn. Your last sentence is the KEY one to pay attention to. Guest guest
I know what you mean. To me, it is incomprehensible how someone could be so downright EVIL, as to do something like separating a MOTHER FROM HER CHILDREN for political reasons, with no evidence or cause to do so,(??????????????) or how the doctor that fired me for having an illness and professed to be the MOST devoutly religious man there could be turned me in to the Texas State Board for being a " substance abuser with a severe personality disorder " the DAY I opened my practice down the road from him because he knew of my Lyme and had observed some of the worst days I have had, having severe HERXORAMA reactions and severe neurological problems and thought he could eliminate the competition... I just can't believe or fathom the things that happen to people who because of some (often terrible) misfortune are forced to try and work within " the system... " only to be screwed and then destroyed by it... I am just profoundly distubed by the inhumanity that exists and that we all face in dealing with these agencies and people, every day. Guess you hit me in a vulnerable spot... These types of things are the reason that it is important that we all STAND UP FOR EACH OTHER and get active in supporting each other. We have all faced the situation of coming into conflict with the medical " establishment, " merely by the fact that we have an illness that they don't know about and don't understand. We mustn't become apathetic or allow ourselves to feel victimized. (I'm talking to myself, can you tell? :-0 ) we need to work together to support the LLMD's, the researchers, and support each other in changing the system, because it IS broken and in need of repair. WE are the only ones who can even begin to figure out how to fix it, because we have experienced where the breakdowns occur. peace to all b >From: " Dave Coulter " <dcoulter@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: RE: [ ] Interesting..... >Date: Fri, 7 Nov 2003 08:11:11 -0800 > >I prefer to think that the bureaucrats are stupid and therefore not doing >anything with intent mainly because I don't think they are smart enough to >form intent. > >I know I am probably wrong but it salves my mind to think them stupid >rather >than malicious, it keeps me from going postal! > >Dave > > Re: [ ] Interesting..... > >Just another sick example of the extent the government is willing to go to >cover-up and " prevent " vital research from benefitting the lyme >community!!!! > >This really ticks me off!!! > >Carol aka dizz > [ ] Interesting..... > > > > > I take care of a 96 yr old man who is in the last stages of his life. Guest guest
I read about that filer before. It is a straw which one uses to suck up dirty poluted river water and drinks it. Meant for people in counties with no public sanitation, rivers which are dirty, and who have no money for any clean water.
