Hi my support group,

I don't write on here much but I do read all the time and I am so sorry for all you have been through. I have been through an ordeal with getting implants but a whole different problem...........anyway I need to see a different surgeon then the top rated, ex- chief of plastic surgery at Memorial West with great comments about his work doctor that has deformed my chest............whhoooo

I am not sure who gave me the information, but awhile back I asked if anyone knew a good Dr. in South Florida and I think the person they told me was a Pamala Rosen. I decided to go to her website and check her out. Since I am at work I cannot see her work, but I was able to read some things about her. They had a place at the website that you could write to them and they would call you back...You all know when you do that they call immediately. Well, I wrote a small blurb that I needed reconstruction from previous surgery and I needed a good doctor. Would you believe I never got a phone call back. Anyway, I would just like to know it that was the recommended Dr from this site. If it is, I will be calling them on the phone.

Let me know if this was the Doc that was recommended if anyone remembers recommending her.

Hope everyone has a great day.............despite our issues.........

Mindy

Re: Doctor list ..Penni

Ok is Penni still here? Penni!!! Penni!! I just searched old posts and found this bad info on Dr. Leighton, the one I had a consult with today. I have a feeling he has learned some things from the past, seriously. It was like he knew how I felt about not wanting to hear implants don't cause sickness, and was on the same page with me, empathetic and supportive. It is like he "accepted" it since 2008, and changed his schmeal. Hopefully he learned some things through his recorded "depression".. maybe this is why he got into volunteering? I've done that and grew through my depression that way,,, unless there are still negative experiences with him!

Never once would he admit that my health problems, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and many others were implant related. In fact he mocked in front of my face and my husbands face that women that are explanted feel so much better especially if they do coffee enemas. I had my double lumen implants replaced by him in 2003. He also put in my original pair after my breast cancer surgery in 1989. In 2003 the implants that he put in were saline because he told us their was no silicone in them. I started having intense left breast contractures in December of 2004. I went to see him and he told me I would just have to live with the pain and gave me two straight jacket type tte binder bras. Last November I went in to see his assistant because I needed some new binder straps. Dr. Leighton hadn't been in the office since August because he had some sort of

A few days later I received in the mail some notes from his office. I just quickly glanced over them as they were just progress reports. I just this past week pulled them out again to get the date of my last surgery. Low and behold although I didn't see them before the operating room notes were in their. He NEVER mentioned to me or my husband after the surgery and other visits that I had a gel leak.

Hey ,

No I am talking about something different altogether.....my plastic surgeon who is supposedly "one of the best" caused me much grief. I ended up with 4 or 5 surgeries since getting them in and this is my second set of implants in 3 years. I had an infection in the beginning of the first implants and he cut me open and cleaned me out and re put the implant back in......almost 2 years later I ended up with a never ending infection for 3 months before I finally went in. He took them out. Then I had them replaced and I had to pay like I was getting implants for the first time...........grrrrr He told my husband and I that maybe the infection came from his mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!What kind of crap was that....maybe the infection came from him re putting in the first implant after the first infection!!!! Either way my chest looks horrible now. The implant looks like a double boob on the side where I had the infections and I will not go back to him. In fact, they never reset for me to come into an appointment after the first or second appointment after surgery and then is not normal....I was just a problem he could not fix and he said he has never had this problem before............WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!JUST ME!!!!!!!!! sorry I am rambling and I am at work..... 24 kids sitting in my room after testing waiting for everyone else in the school to finish!!!

Either way I was asking if anyone knew a good surgeon here in South Florida and I thought they gave me the name Pamala Rosen.

Tricia, it seems he did not take the implants out correctly when he left silicone in Penni's chest and she had to have surgery for that removal by Dr. Kolb. Oh God. Please add this info to the list. Perhaps he's learned since then but still...if someone with silicone leakage issues goes there they should know that. He also left some valve tube in Penni that Kolb had to take out!!!! Omg omg omg. Prayers for Penni. I think I better go to Kolb. Sometimes we think someone has changed and find they have backslid.

I just looked at Dr P Rosen's site, and she does NOT

believe in implant problems....she advertises the safety

of them....and how they improve you......and advertises

no one had problems from them....

> Tricia,

> > I have STRONG objections to Dr. Leighton's name being on this list. He was my doctor for 17 years. Dr. Leighton hadn't been in the office since August because he had some sort of

> depression and couldn't work any longer and he was letting his office staff go. She also told me that he wouldn't go to a doctor for help with his depression.

> > I'm not the type of person to cut down someone else but I fully and completely trusted this doctor. He knew and could see how I have gotten sicker and sicker over the years and yet he never said anything!!!!

> > My understanding is that he came back to work in January. I haven't seen him or talked to him.

> But I would not in any way shape or form recommend him to anyone. His workmanship is the best in Arizona but that is were it ends. He had plenty of chances to tell me I had a leak. The only thing he told my husband and me was that he didn't see any cancer. Period!!! He also made fun of me for crying because I was in so much pain the next day after surgery. His response was that I was depressed and that that was my problem and I had to deal with it.

> He has a very fancy elegant office with large flat screened TV's in each exam room. He wears at least several thousand dollars suits on his days to see patients. He is very short and comes across as he can do anything and everything is a piece of cake.

> Remember I have been very sick. Hundreds of thousands of dollars we have spend since 1996 on my illness. He knew this and yet he NEVER told me I had a gel leak.

> > If I had control of this list I would take his name off immediately!!!

I'm sending you the whole list so you can look it over...you will have to travel, but hopefully you have family that can help in another state. Most of us have had to travel. You're only other option would be to start calling around and talking to each plastic surgeon in your area, making sure they know how to do a proper explant. It's a hard search sometimes.
