Hi Jerry,

I'm copying this note to the group. If I were you, I'd ask that she be

checked for pneumonia just to be on the safe side. I'm sure others have

some more ideas as well. I'll see what I can find as far as medical

references.

I just posed this question to both this group and Dr.

on at Vanderbilt a couple of weeks ago.

My father was experiencing shortness of breath for the

month before he died. It was getting progressively

worse. He was even having trouble holding a

conversation of any length. There was no apparent

cause (no pneumonia, etc.), and his lung capacity was

found to be normal, although his blood oxygen was

critically low. He was finally put on oxygen a couple

of days before he died. Dr. on said it is not a

typical symptom of MSA. We never did find the cause.
