Guest guest
We use a suction machine to remove some of the excess saliva. In addition, my husband's doctor at Vanderbilt began a few months ago giving my husband botox shots in the TMJ area to slow the production of saliva. It is not that he has too much saliva, but that he can not move the saliva to the back of the mouth to swallow. The shots are to be given every three months. We have seen some change in the choking episodes. The time is almost out and we are having an increased number of choking episodes. The botox appeared to help for about two months.
