Guest guest
Hey y'all I went to digest mode so I don't respond as much, but several issues struck me.. I'll try and be succinct, but that is NOT a natural condition for me. 1)Ordering small meals--A wonderful Al-Anon phrase comes to mind... " What other people think of me is none of my business " So who gives a rat's a** if a waitperson thinks I'm cheap, or weird because I order a small meal or appetizer. I'm paying for a service. It's a people pleaser hangover to be concerned what others think about what I'm eating. And the other thing is THEY PROBABLY DON'T CARE!!! We just think they do!! 2)OA--my experience with OA is that you have to do your homework.. Some groups absolutely suck!! Others are great, check out several groups.I would not mention WLS at first, until you are sure you will feel safe, no real need to share that, cuz it's about food obsession. If you live in a place that doesn't have a lot of OA groups, you might want to check out open AA meetings...substituting food for alcohol in your reading. Addiction is addiction, the drug of choice is irrelevant, " using " is about not dealing with feelings or living with life on life's terms. If that's not comfortable, there is a 12 step WLS group within the Yahoo groups. Or you could always order OA literature, it can be very helpful. 3)OK,time for my question. I have lost 200 lbs (385 to 185), got major skin issues, but was initially denied for TT as I had not had any medical problems with apron. I'm not OK with lying about that to get insurance approval. Exaggerating, I could live with, but bold face lies are just not OK with me. I'm the human resources manager, and we are a self-insured company,non-profit to boot, so I'd have a major ethical issue with total deceit. Since that original denial, I have had two minor infections in my belly button that did not require medical treatment. I have no back pain, no rashes, but some knee pain. I have no idea if that is related to extra front weight of pannus. Now, another issue has developed, I'm having some major bladder leakage. This is not a big surprise. I was over 300 lbs for 30 years. I quit caffeine, as that had caused me bladder problems in the past. But even being caffeine free, I've got big time problems. I'm going to see my PCP for that. OK, so here is the dream. I know there is a surgical procedure to assist with bladder, you think there is any chance I could get a TT the same time...like folks who get their hernias fixed. Or am I delusional? Feedback, please and thank you a K Open RNY With Gall Bladder Removal 1/30/01 The lovely and talented Dr. Coster Grinnell Regional Medical Center 385/185/
