Guest guest
hi tracy; i went to hiatt a few yrs. back and was not impressed with him either. my dr. was feng in ohio, but not sure shes any less expensive than any of the others, but she is good; also does microsurgery. gg From: tracylengyel@...Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2011 06:40:23 +0000Subject: explant docs again Hey all,,, I went to Hiatt for an explant consult and had to sit through him telling me silicone is everywhere you can't escape it and "if I would stop going on groups like those everything would be fine". Then I liked Leighton but I hate how he treated someone in past, and left silicone and valve tubes in her and Kolb had to fix it all. Then the estimate from Kolb is much higher than the others. SOOO, and Melmed is high too. Is there someone I'm not thinking of that is more affordable for explantation that has a good reputation for doing it right the first time????? My head is spinning. Thanks.
Guest guest
Oh, this makes me so upset to hear this. This sounds like a totally different man than I saw. He was so good to me, so kind and his staff was helpful in every way. I just don't know what to say. I shouldn't be shocked anymore I guess. There are so few doctors who have the guts to stand up for what is right when it comes to implant illness. They all just try to cover their butts and be politically correct. Maybe someone got to him and he felt threatened. It wouldn't be the first time it happened to the docs on our list. " Stop going on groups like those and everything would be fine " ????? As if your body will just get better if you stay off the internet???? What utter bullcrap!!!!! What did he say about your symptoms? That they were all in your head??? I'm tempted to get on the phone right now. Maybe I will send another update letter to him. I have in the past, and the goal then was to confirm for him that taking out the implants was helpful and necessary and I was glad he did it right. Sounds like my letters have fallen on deaf ears! God help us! Anyway, if you are still looking for someone in the West, my next recommendation would be Dr. Huang in Denver. She may be cheaper and she knows the truth--and I don't believe she will be like Hiatt. But she also still implants and will probably remain fairly neutral. But she was the doctor for Lynda Roth, one of the most ardent fighters for implant illness. Dr. Huang KNOWS the truth. Here is her link: http://www.lindahuangmd.com/ If you can't go there, then perhaps California, but the doctors on our list there are wishy washy as well. In the end, to have the most agony-free experience with explant, we just say stick with those we know well and who do the best job. That's Dr. Lu Feng, Dr. Kolb, Dr. Ed Melmed, and Dr. Huang. They are our heroes. Hope that helps, Patty > > Hey all,,, I went to Hiatt for an explant consult and had to sit through him telling me silicone is everywhere you can't escape it and " if I would stop going on groups like those everything would be fine " .
