.. I am not a doctor but neither is your chiropractor.........

mercury and lead are highly toxic highly poisonous metals ..the

asorbtion of relatively small amounts can do severe damage to your liver

and at certain amouts can lead to fulminant liver failure and even death

I can't see a relationship between them and AIH.....which is a genetic

based CHRONIC disease that predestines people to liver damage by

alerting the immune system that our own liver cells are the enemy ...

toxin is just what it says it is....poison.... and itself is what does

the dammage.Alcohol is a toxin , so is tylenol an no one suggest they

cause AIH ....they just start destroying liver cells and thats what Hg

and Pb doand at a swift rate .

I know what LGS is but never found a website that was manned by an MD

that said itwas a trigger for autoimune diseases. Most of the sites are

by holistics, herb sellers, chinese medicines and the like. If you have

faith in them over medical professionals then they may be right. Thier

only offer of treatment are diets and herbs. I'm sorry if I come off

sounding mean . But I tend to trust modern medicine over herbalists and

holistics. Please forgive my preachines......but it is human nature to

try and find the easier softer way.Wishing you good health.

Gotta go with Jerry on this one. Sorry, wish it were that easy. I

have even heard this theory taken so far that getting your metal

fillings taken out of your teeth would cure pretty much every human

ailment. That would be great, but...alas.

It would be easy, huh? No Jerry, I do not think you are mean. I

knew you would have a field day with this one. :-) I know that

the " conventional treatment " is the best and that will be what I do.

I just have to appease my curious nature and research some. I do

believe in the old adage.. " If it is too good to be true, then it is

probably not true. "

Thanks for the fodder, , now I can slow down for the night. Tell

the truth, I'm pretty gullible myself and often am looking for the easy

way.......so it's like I used to tell my kids......do as I say not as I

do.. (snicker)

love ya jerry

Dave,

Tests can be done by Genova diagnostics or Lab 21. Have a look in the files,

there are instructions and discounts.

The lady speaker was Dr Theodora Mantzourani. She is in private practice.

Do you have the numbers for the test results done by your doctor? I was on

thyroxine for 10 years before I started to go downhill again. Have sorted it

more or less with supplements, T3 and andrenal help.

HiDave, for testing see the forum files where you will find a list of labs- such as Genova who offer TPA members a discount. If you wish to see Dr. Theodora Mantzourani her contact details should be there too. > thyroid treatment > From: davejoycemorgan@...> Date: Sun, 17 Oct 2010 12:14:47 +0000> Subject: Functional Medicine> > I have been on levothyroxine for about 9 years now and in general have felt fairly good but recently I've had cause to reconsider that. I had my blood retested by my GP who declared that everything was ok. I wasn't convinced at the time but had nowhere else to go until I went to the meeting in Birmingham recently.> > At the meeting one of the lady speakers talked about checking adrenals and Functional Medicine so I thought it would be worth looking into. Having done some searches I've not turned anything up so I was wondering if there are any recommended or suggested places to have this done.> I'm in Buckinghamshire hopefully there may be one or two nearby?> > Regards> > Dave> > > > ------------------------------------> > TPA is not medically qualified. I asked Dr. Kolb about the Low Oxalate Diet and she responded that this was part of "Functional Medicine." When I looked that up, I found this website: http://www.functionalmedicine.org/about/staff.aspThought it was interesting...perhaps some of you can find a new doctor through this! There is a search function to let you find those in your area.Las Vegas has two that I could contact....Interesting...never knew this existed.Patty
