Hey, I just got in the mail a catalog for Winter Silks. OMG! I want them

all! I've been wearing things under my things which are under other things

for a few winters now. The idea of it being silk, oooooooooooooo.

On burgers. Fast food repelled me for the first 2 yrs. Then it became

" ok " , but not fabulous. Then I worked at McD for a year (97-98) and got back

OK with it. Fats satisfy, sugar will make me fat again. Typically, I lost

a few lbs while working there.

A burger without bread is of NO interest to me. My ideal would be to put

the meat on long enough to melt the cheese, then gimmethe bun with cheese &

a " salad " in it. LOL! I've gotta eat it while driving, so I need the

wrapper to be edible. However, I swear the buns are actually " sweeter " that

store buns. Interesting, huh? Sugar makes you want to eat more, more,

At 8 yrs (almost 3 past revision), I can do part of a Happy CB + a few

fries. Or more fries, less burger, or a small fries, no burger, or most of

the burger no fries. Or one piece of large pizza (inc crust--no god to me

w/o the crust, but maybe not the edge). That's the MOST. Another day, 2

bites of burger,. 2 fries & I'm over the top. Figure it.

Thanks,

, Prissy or not, I'm in your corner -- I'm a little over 2 years and

only tried a Mickey D's burger (4 bites) threw up (couple of months ago)

hurt like heck, went and sat in the car and will NOT go there again.

I've gained weight on being " careful " and making good choices (most the

time) I had no Halloween candy, don't push the envelope on much at all... I

eat steak but it is good steak and in limited amounts. With a 5 year old (BD

parties and play dates) I'm in the fast food resurants a lot but I DO notice

almost all of them now have salads or more " grown up " food (they advertise

it as such)

Mostly I try to remember that I picked the RnY over the DS because I HAD to

change the way I ate (fast food junky) because my heart was not holding

up -- even with the weight gone I have to remember the heart can still give

out if I don't choose carefully.

When the " real " food urge hits I order a filet of fish thingy, take it out

of the bread and press it between napkins to squish out the cooking oils

(not very appetizing -- grosses others out as well if they watch!!!) I've

eaten part of some of that... just not the burgers NO MORE and believe me...

I LOVED fast food.

I never could eat two in a row though and as painful as it was -- really

glad my pouch totally rejected the few bites I did take a few months ago

(stressful moment - yuck choices)

I can eat ground beef though, like a meatball from the spaghetti or meat

loaf, fajitas in beef or chicken, steak and pork... how much just depends on

how hungry I am. It's gotta be good food though -- not a fast food... I

could see myself being able to get right back on that wagon REAL easy

though -- not sweets, not bakery goods but the fast foods and breads would

get me real fast.

Boy, oh boy. You guys roll me. (or is it envy?)

Tonight we are having Thai green curry beef, extra hot the way

hasbeen likes it, using blade roast cubed and coconut milk. Along

with steamed white rice, and stir fried broccoli and carrots. I bet

that would send three quarters of you to the loo in less time than a

commercial break.

It's so fantastically explosive going down. I'll be paying for it

tomorrow though.

(however, I am downing a quart of watery crystal light right now so I

will only eat a little because with the coconut, it really is quite

caloric)

Yeah, I don't get it. Some days I could eat the whole damn cow!!!!!!!!!

Other days ...... Two BITES and I am done. I do know that stress has a

lot to do with how much and WHAT I can eat. When I am angry or really

stressed the stomach SHUTS Down and NOTHING gets through. If I try to

eat at those times what ever I have eaten comes right back UP. Or it

TRIES to kill me and CLAWS it's way OUT.

Yeppers, not much of that I could/would eat. NO hot, white rice on a good

day, prefer basmati now, love steamed broc, but can't eat much of it. :-(

DO NOT COOK MY CARROTS! Lol! Give 'em to me straight, sweet & crunchy.

I'll forget to chew & block myself soon enough. Sigh

Greetz:

I just stay out of those places.....beyond the Golden Arches, there

be dragons!!! I know it's easier said than done...but, I've done it

because I was a double cheese junkie...supersized! Wash it down with

a Coke and I was good to go; load up on the fries and not think twice

about the calories or the fat grams involved...or the simple math

that went with it.

Alcholics have their difficulties and one of the methods for helping

is to " stay out of bars " or other places pouring what they don't need

or shouldn't have. I have to look at these places the same way...and

I do top it off with " look at the kid that's making these things!! "

I've become a big believer in just writing things out of my life.

Food and people...there are folks that I just don't want to deal with

because they're bad for my well being. Ditto on some food places. I

can only be in control of what I want to do...or at least attempt the

best control that I have available or a situation; so, I'd much

rather NOT start a new precedence by going into a hamburger shack or

the drive thru. They've got everything I don't need and the

temptation is always going to be there to come back.

The KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method for me always applies...if

it's got a piece of bread involved...NOT FOR ME! If there's an ice

cream cone involved...NOPE! If I need a malt...I've got the Vita-

Lady shake to make!! And if it's sitting in the fridge calling my

name over and over...it can call my name from the trash can just as

well; I'll dump that irritant into the garbage and then it's no

longer a passing thought.

Rules can be bent...but, I'd prefer not to tempt fate. I'm always

surprised how easily led astray that I can be...and that's the basis

of food advertisers and those that have to peddle their foods. I

thought I'd hate the No Hamburger Rule....but after the first couple

of years, no big whoop.

It works for me. I've shared before I was a nightime grazer. I

fought for years not to munch at night. When I did munch, I felt

guilty. When I didn't munch, I white knuckled it through the whole

evening. Nothing ever worked until I just plaing gave up and

eliminated the problem by going to bed at 9p.m. instead of midnight.

So simple!!! After all that struggle!!!

I can't do like so many diets suggest...if you really want some, just

have a small piece. That, for me, is just so much hogwasy. It's like

pouring gasoline on smoldering embers...Poof!!! It won't go out

until it burns itself out.

I'm gonna have to come out of the closet on this one:

What is the No Peeps Rule? I've been reading about Peeps, etc. for

a couple of years and just let it go by, thinking that term would

fade away.

>>> I've become a big believer in just writing things out of my life....They

ve got everything I don't need and the temptation is always going to be

Interesting -- I hadn't thought of fast food this way exactly. But when

there is a cause involved, I am first in line. Like I don't wear or buy gold

because of how I feel about the gold mines in Colorado. I won't eat Yoplait

because their cartons are lethal to small animals, and they refuse to change

them. I won't buy paper from stores that don't offer recycled products. But

I will still walk into a burger joint. Hmmm...

Maybe I need to start looking at 'bad' food places the way I look at the

things that are social causes in my life, and act accordingly. I have to

become my most important social cause -- what's good for me, as well as for

the environment and wildlife and so on.

Thanks for the insight!

Yeah....Sex Addicts have pretty much the same problem. Or....so,

I've heard.

Actually....since we're into that mode now, sorry.....sneaking

Double Cheeseburgers Post WLS is pretty much akin to masturbation or

running for public office...or even flying a helicopter. All of

them give you a warm and cozy but exciting feeling while you're

doing it.....but, afterwards you're sooooo ashamed!

Not that I know anything about helicopters of that other Stuff.
