Sometimes, when at a meeting, somebody will mention certain foods, not aware

that it may cause a " trigger " for others.

We food addicts are a special breed.

All somebody has to do is mention _______food or_______, and my mouth starts

watering. Then my mind plays games with me, until I finally EAT that

product.

When the thought may not have come to me, had I not been exposed to it in

that manner!

In our meeting, by vote, people were asked to refrain from actually naming

the product itself.

That did seem to help!

Just a suggestion.

I felt sympathetic to the poster who ate that hamburger!

I've kinda been reading those posts until, that seed was planted in my mind,

too.....

Again, we are all SO different. I love to read gourmet cookbooks, savoring

the pictures. I get wonderful satisfaction from it, it's like culinary porn.

And despite what the Baptists would say, it does not lead to eating the real

stuff or even licking the pictures .

I am always sensitive to that because it happens to me also, so I avoid

detailing the food or wallowing when I'm in trouble.

I have the same problem folks get into trouble and write pretty graphic

descriptions of their transgressions and it can sometimes set me off. This

year I hadnt even thought of Halloween and someone mentioned how it was

driving them nuts and wham, I was off to the races. It does help to ALWAYS

take responsibility for your actions, but it is irritating to HAVE to face a

crisis just because someone else's misery triggered it. Being stubborn

helps too.

Hang in there and be strong dont let those demons get you down!

So funny - I remember watching the food network for hours on end as a new

post op....weird, eh?

Yah, !! Culinary porn!!! I am right there with you. Maybe

that's why I keep posting on how weird it is that I'm becoming a

foodie. I love reading Cooking Light magazine. I bought some fat

free Italian dressing and in a couple of minutes I'm off to search

for brussels sprouts to marinate for tomorrow. I'm also on the

lookout for a couple of big tomatoes...going to try baking them with

fat free mayo in the stem cavity and a little parmesan (fresh...no

more green Kraft can ever again for me. If I am limited to a

sprinkle, it better be the good stuff!).

I just tried a recipe to die for. Poached pears in blackberry cassis

sauce. Easy..peel pears except for a little part at top so the stem

stays attached. Core with apple corer. In a pan mix a few T. creme

de cassis with some frozen blackberries and simmer into a sauce.

Puree sauce. Put pears in pan, cover and poach. Lift pears onto

plate, spoon sauce around pears on plate. Sprinkle a few whole

berries for decoration around pear. Sprinkle w/ scant spoon chopped

pistachio if desired.

This is SO beautiful..the blackberry color gradiates up the pear. It

tastes so sweet (not overly so) and rich. It's low cal, fiber rich

and healthy. I felt like a movie star in a 5 star restaurant when I

ate this at home.

Who could guess good and easy food could be so orgasmic? If this is

food porn, bring it on baby!!!!

Smiles,
