Guest guest
Don't forget to include in the letter that if no response is received within 10 business days you will be notifying the BBB and the medical board. You might also mention further legal action. (Be certain to make a copy of anything you mail. Consider mailing it certified mail. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Pamela- Do you have a friend that is an attorney that could write a letter for you. That might help. I would call the insurance commisioner and the AMA and threaten to go to the papers. Just a few aggressive suggestions. The nerve of some people. Good luck. You can join our exclusive (not) club of people who have backslid a little, or a lot, and want it to stop! I found that confessing here was a good impetus to move forward on stopping my regain, and starting to lose it again! There, that's the good news! You can stop the regain, and lose again. But....you knew there had to be bad news, right? Despite my vow to never do so, I have had to return to a " diet " mentality. I simply must consciously control what I put in my mouth. I tried trusting to my body, which was quickly overruled by my compulsively trained mind. No mystery as to how I regained - I ate foods I shouldn't eat, and I ate too much. I think that's pretty much true for most regain. I am now moving onto week 3 (maybe week 4 - gads, the lack of food must be numbing my mind) of my new eating style. I am counting calories and keeping my intake between 1,500 and 2,000. My goal is 1,500 - but I give myself the leeway to climb to 2,000 before I become weird about it. I have cut out sugar, I make sure I get 3 protein shakes a day, and for the rest of that whopping 1,000 calories, I eat what I want. Is it working? Aaargh - I guess so! I don't like doing this, but in 3 weeks have lost maybe 4 lbs, maybe 5. I am struggling to not let the scale control my mood (some days I win, some days the scale wins). I am getting tired of not binge eating when I want (even though I recognize I feel so much better physically). It's just so hard. It is getting easier to not eat sugar, but I still want it. It's just plain hard work. But honestly, if I can do this - YOU can do this. We'll help you! Kate
Guest guest
Hi a and welcome, I'm so glad you posted because there are so many people who blame themselves when the surgery doesn't do what they expected. But, you may have a staple line disruption and, if that's the case, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!!! Do you know if your stomach is transected? If not, I'll bet dollars to donuts (excuse the pun) it's that 'ole busted staple line. You need to have an upper GI to tell. If that's not the case, you can always have it revised to a more distal RNY or BPD/DS, if so desired. There are solutions, but unfortunately, many do involve a second surgery. However, it is usually Oh so worth it. Good luck, in NJ open RNY 8/99 staple line disruption lap transection 8/00 306/164/whatever coming soon (11/19/02) TT and butt lipo ************************************************ In a message dated 10/9/2002 1:37:40 PM Eastern Daylight Time, Graduate-OSSG writes: > Hi, > > WHEW!
