Guest guest
Barbara, Here are the ones I think I was referring to: http://hdlighthouse.org/see/treat/hdac.htm http://www.nature.com/nsu/001102/001102-9.html http://hdlighthouse.org/see/treat/hdac2.htm It seems to me that they all involve somatic cell nuclear transfer which would mean cloning human cells. The Feinstein Bill allows only that type of cloning (for curing disease or disorders), whereas the Brownback Bill prohibits ALL human cell cloning. But I am not sure this is somatic cell nuclear transfer. Glad you are still here, I did not remember any recent messages, but I miss a lot nowadays. P.S. I found that many of my ancestors also came from Norway via Germany. "Werre" was evidently spelled "Verre" and changed for convenience when they came to the USA although there are also people in both Germany, the Netherlands and a few in Norway using it as "Werre". Another thing they often changed was the first name spelling, my great-great grandfather changed his name from Johann to between the 1850 and 1860 census ) I think the ornery old German just wanted to make it tough on us kids to find him and the family. Birth and death certificates were not always filled out in those days also, especially in rural Missouri. ) Maybe they did not want to be found ) Although he was postmaster in both censuses. Take care, Bill Werre -------------------------------------------------------------------- woodford wrote: Bill, Of course I'm still here. Where would I be? I missed the Neuroscience article you are talking about. Can you print out the abstract again? I HAVE been on a genealogy kick (want to get it all discovered before I kick the bucket) and have been reading on how Norwegian names have come about and how complicated my search is going to be. It gave me a great big headache. Barbara in Illinois (aka Barbara Woodford)
