Guest guest
>>>>I did realize recently that bread is my trigger food. I can eat pasta or fries, but bread makes me overeat, especially if it's a sandwich. If only we could buy one or 2 slices, rather than having to buy a whole loaf. Once in a while I REALLY want toast with my eggs. So I buy the Lite bread made by Orowheat (they have a lite 9-grain that is awesome, and a lite potato bread that is also quite good). The slices are small to start out with, so there's not as much actual bread there as would be in 2 regular slices. And the 9-grain is high in fiber, always a good thing for those of us who drink a lot of protein. Then I freeze the whole loaf, and just take out 2 slices when I am having an omelet. Maybe once a week or less, as I only cook eggs for breakfast on weekends. I've had the same loaf of bread in my freezer for 2 months, and only half of it is gone. When it's not out, I'm not tempted to haul out half a loaf and spread peanut butter and marshmallow fluff all over it! (my sandwich demon/poison of choice) I know, I know, I shouldn't eat bread at all, but at least when I do, I do it with some forethought. ~~ Lyn G
Guest guest
I keep bread in the freezer. I chip out 1-2 slices when I need it. That way, it can call my name, but I can't hear it. (my > sandwich demon/poison of choice) ***************************************** I tried freezing it, but when you try to get a couple of slices off a frozen loaf, it breaks and it's no longer fresh, and you have to toast it, and it's just not the same. But, this is probably a good thing. in NJ

Any idea why? And is it easier to get a piece out without having it break? No matter what I do, sticking a knife carefully in between or what, it always breaks. in NJ
