Guest guest
They should give you a binder in the hospital to wear home. Probably one that just wraps around your tummy. You can pin the drains to the binder with safety pins, that holds them in place. When taking a shower, I used a neck/keychain with a clip on the end and pinned the drains there so they don't hang down, they really pull if you don't clip them up some how. My daughter had the neck/keychain thing from when she worked at Old Navy and it was perfect. It holds their id on the clip or something like that. You could even use yarn or some type of small cord, etc. After the drains were taken out I still wore support garments, my doctor suggested them for 6 weeks +. I got two at Walmart for like $10.00 each. They are by Hanes, and are just really high briefs with lots of support. They came all the way up to my bra line and really helped. I hope this helps some, you'll get lots of answers here and your doctor should be able to help too. Good luck, Donna M. I only had two drains; they part that inserts into your body is taped down, and mine had a stitch as well. There was a little fabric flap on the tube part that I used to attach them with a safety pin to my tee shirt (which is what I lived in around the house), and then to my underwear or something else if I went out. Was very simple to do, although I confess I hated the damned things! Kate

Guest guest
I had an Open RNY on 6-22-00 and went from 319 to about 175 pounds in a year. I had a hernia repair and TT on 6-22-01. Since that time I have stabilized around 165 pounds. I expected to lose maybe 20 pounds with the TT and frankly I can't say that I lost much of any weight as a result of the TT poundwise -- however, the loss of that roll that was never going to go away is amazing. I highly recommend a tummy tuck to anyone who has lost this weight -- everything about it is amazing. The recovery is minimal compared to the WLS and it makes a huge difference in how clothes fit. As I said, my only slight disappointment was that I thought that it would take off a bunch of weight and it did not! Ann , Akron, OH
Guest guest
You know... I've thought about this time and time again.... I'm lucky enough to have had the major portion of my weight in my lower body " pear shaped " so that my stomach muscles were not affected. I'm going to go for the Panniculectomy for skin removal... then have kids and leave well enough alone. If I end up with a pooch from kids, it's a badge of motherhood I think. I think if I did have a pooch now from my weight, I'd still do just skin, have the kidlets, THEN get the muscle work done... I dunno... It's different for everyone of course, just my .02 Re: Tummy Tuck Would you recommend it to those of us who want to eventually have children?
