As I was sharing with Judy earlier today, I did speak

with Dr. Parisi at Mayo Clinic regarding this. He said

that we would have a report in 4-6 weeks. I knew that

we had done the right thing donating my dad's tissue,

but talking with Dr. Parisi gave me so much peace

about my dad's death. He was very grateful for our

decision, but acknowledged what a difficult decision

it was, especially considering the fact that we hadn't

made any arrangements for donation before my dad's

death. I truly feel that something good came out of

something very tragic.

Making such a donation is a very personal decision.

However, if anyone here needs any information on it,

please let me know. I have names and numbers for

doctors at both Mayo and Vanderbilt. We considered

both hospitals but ended up going with Mayo because

they had originally dx my father, and they picked up

100% of the expenses. Dr. Parisi said it's very

helpful (and very rare) that they are able to follow a

case from initial dx through death.
