Liz, I have both RP and Osteoarthritis - everywhere - start from the neck

down and it's there. The latest wrinkle has been imlammation of my Achilles

Tendon - which is TRUE joy! Some days I cannot put my foot on the floor -

not step on it, mind you, but just touch it to the floor! I, too, have lots

of wonderful things to say about this bloody disease, but it STILL beats the

alternatives! LOL, Judy O

Hi Liz,

Thanks for letting me know about the ankle and foot pain. Sounds

like I had better get the metho out of the cupboard and start taking

it. After the experience I had with the Plaquenil I'm almost afraid

to take any new medication. That was awful. Took it for 2 weeks and

suddenly I swelled up all over my body and had a rash that was

unrelenting everywhere. Even in my hair. It took a month for that

to clear up. I didn't think osteoarthritis made your joints swell

and get red and hot. Thanks for telling me this. Maybe that's what

it is that I get, along with the RP.

Take care. Marilyn

Judy, I do sympathise, tendons give the worst pain - I

remember when my upper arm tendon was torn (from the

arthritic joint!) I couldn't move my arm without

severe pain, shoulder surgery finally sorted it out

but, it was NO FUN!! However I agree with the

'considering the alternatives' one hundred percent!

When I was 22 (and that seems a long time ago) I had a

lump in my breast and had to go for a biopsy, I of

course was terrified and convinced that my time on

this earth was severely limited, but I was in a public

ward with a lot of very sick people, and realised then

that there is always someone who is worse off. This

has always helped me cope. Needless to say my lump

was OK, I still get them but techniques are better

these days, so I don't get so scared! Take care of

your tendon! Love Liz
