The Nature's Science Calcium that so many of us use is an EXCELLENT

product - so many of us wouldn't be using it otherwise. I buy mine from a

vendor that I trust implicitly, someone who's done a lot of research and

will only sell products that she believes in, whether it a supplement to

keep us healthy or a candy bar that is " safe " for us. She's someone who

would never stoop to the level of trashing another company's product in

order to sell her own. She doesn't need to.

Dan's advice was right on the money, " Someone else posed the thought on this

in relation to your bloodwork but more

importantly your dexascans. If you, and your labs, and your scans all have

you in good health, then obviously you are not doing something

wrong.......... "

Kate, which powdered calcium would that be? I'm totally bummed about this

because Nature's Science is the only calcium pill I can swallow.

Thanks,

Well, as for the dexascan, I had my first one about a month ago, and it

showed mild osteopenia. Since it was my first, I have nothing to compare it

to until next year. I want to nip it in the bud. The issue is not whether

we need calcium, or how much or what kind, the issue was whether this

particular manufacturer's labeling is misleading. I also implicitly trust

the person who I got these from, the same person many of us get stuff from.

However, I am wondering about the manufacturer because at the same time this

thread started, my brother-in-law, who is a food scientist, had looked at the

label, and also said that there's not as much elemental calcium in these as

they imply. It's just the Nature's Science brand I'm talking about. So,

that's why I'm just a little concerned. BUT, he also did say that " chelated "

was a good thing. So, I will not give these up because they're the only

calcium pill I've been able to swallow, but I may add in some of the powdered

or liquid form as well. That's all.
