Hello group....Ironically, this will be my first post to this list,

but I've been a member since about a year prior to my having wls.

Anyway, I'd like wisdom from my peers....please!

I had BPD(non-transected) about 2 1/2 years ago. I've done pretty

well, I've gone from a size 34+ to an 18. I became pregnant during

my second year of the " honeymoon " , and it actually boosted, I

thought, my weight loss.(I'd been on a plateau since about 10 months

post-op.) I was 16 pounds lighter on the day of delivery.

The problem, is I'm wondering if I might have SLD. Over the past two

weeks, I've become incredibly hungry, all the time. Also, I've

noticed that I can eat more and NOT feel any discomfort. I remember

having some pains about a month and half ago.(I totally dismissed

them at the time.) I'm also experiencing some bouts of

lightheadedness.(sp)

Oh, I forgot(I wish) to mention, I had a check-up with my wls last

week, and my labs are ok, however I've gained 27-31 pounds since the

second week of December. I don't know if the sixteen pounds that I

loss during pregnancy was just " pregnancy-related/wls combo " loss.

Also, I don't know if my increased appetite is because of the mere

knowledge that I've gained. I do know that prior to having wls, the

more I feared weight gain, the more I ate, and the bigger I became.

I called my surgeon's office and spoke with his nurse(a wls patient

of about 10 years) I was told that if I had SLD, I would have a lot

more complications than mere increased hunger and food intake.

Any thoughts or advice.......anyone??
