You should have several options. At least in Britain, if you are in any largish

city you should be able to find a nutrition store and buy protein drinks there.

I found that shaking up my powder was really not optimum for me, but I'd rather

have the protein than go with out, so I made do on one East Coast trip. You

might also want to try the liquid supplements (I personally hate them, but two

tablespoons is all you need per serving).

It's been several years since I was in Europe, but everywhere I stayed had an

assortment of cheese at every meal, including breakfast. I tended to stay at

the hostel / bed & breakfast type places though, so maybe things are different

elsewhere. At least while in Britain and Scotland you should have a wide

assortment of nasty fish offered for breakfast (Blechhhh!). And you can always

run out to the local market to pick up some cured meat or cheese to keep with

you on a daily basis if your hotel doesn't offer it.

My other favorite traveling companion is beef jerkey - weighs nothing, pure

protein.

Have a great trip!

Going to Europe last August was the beginning of my undoing, but it was my

fault. If you like eggs, breakfast will be very easy. Everybody serves what's

called an " English breakfast " . It's eggs, sausage, tomatos, peppers, toast,

etc. We stayed at a hotel that served breakfast every morning and there was

quite a large array of cheese and meat proteins and they serve yogurt that is to

die for. Unfortunately, their jam is also to die for. I was 8 mos. post-op

when I went and never touched sugar, and got started on the jams and pastries

there. And of course afternoon teas -- scones with clabbered cream and jam.

Yikes!!!! But there are alternatives. They sell a lot of seafood, beef, etc.

Can't help you with Paris. Took the Eurostar there, checked into our hotel, and

I felt so disoriented we went straight back to London. My poor daughter didn't

even get to see the Eiffel Tower!! Have fun. I'm jealous.
