Guest guest
To avoid stones, FIRST you gotta be born lucky. Then, you'd have to learn all the oxalate stone rules and then all the uric acid stone rules. And adhere to them. And hope none conflict with each other. My poor dentist, a diligent young man, who warned me off brown liquids within days of my urologists warning.... is a kidney stone victim, as is his dad & brother. At 44, he's had 47 stones. He's done no liquids, extra water, no dark greens, no Tums or carbonate, no legumes, nuts or seeds and forms stones on a regular basis. (oxalate) So, even knowing the rules & abiding by them may not protect everyone. Others of us know the rules and flaunt them (I think I hear Don with my diet coke now) and get what we pay for, you know? I never knew brown liquids were " bad " . When the urologist told me, I plugged my ears & sang so I wouldn't hear. When Carolyn told me, and so on & so on. And some will use diet coke for their only liquid, to brush their pearly white teeth and bathe & never have a stone touch their lives. Life is so unfair sometimes.
