Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, Like everyone said, it can be various things like bacterias/mold, I've heard sometimes antibiodics used during surgery can turn them brown, etc. Do you have possession of your implants? I sent mine first to Dr. Blais for medical device failure analysis, then to Mycometrics fungal lab in NJ for fungal testing. They did find penicillium growing in both my implants. When removed my implants were cloudy, then later continued to grow dark colonies of mold. Mycometrics uses invasive testing to examine the solution, that probably negates any form of legal recourse (not that there is much of one anyway). It was good to finally have concrete answers, but that didn't really change my course of detox. Dr. Kolb was already treating me for mold. I think Dr. Kolb has since then sent implants to Mycometrics, not sure now since it's been awhile since I've spoken with her. Hope this helps, Beth L. > > Hello, > My name is Kathleen and I was diagnosed with scleraderma in 2006 I got my breast implants in 1992. I began getting ill not long after with being tired all the time and muscle weekness. It wasn't til after the birth of my daughter in 2006 that I became very ill and was finally diagnosed with this autoimune disease called scleraderma. After the birth of my son 6 months ago, about 3 months in of breast feeding my left implant deflated. As I started to begin my search to find plastic surgeons in my area I came across different site talking about the possiblity that women could be getting ill due to breast implants.Needless to say I am convinced for sure.I just had both my implants removed march 23rd 2011.I went for my follow up appointment just yesterday and my doctor came in and showed me the pictures of my removed implants. The implant that was not deflated was a very dark brown color. It was very disturbing to say the least. When I asked him why it was that color he told me he didn't know.I left out of there very bothered by that, and began my own search which lead me to you.I am very upset that my breast could have been filled with mold or fungus and I really need answers with what I can possibly do.I believe my next steps are very important. Sincerly,Kathleen >
