Hi Tanicka:

A typical day for me would start out in the morning with a small bowl

of cereal (like Corn Chex) with some milk. About 2 hours later, I will

have a protein drink or bar with my vitamins. About 2-3 hours later, I

will have a slice of cheese with some ham or turkey or some meat sticks.

A couple of hours later, I will have 1/2 a sandwich or a yogurt or 1/2

cup of cottage cheese with either fruit or raw carrots. A couple of

hours later, I will have another protein drink. At dinner, I will

usually have 3-4 ounces of meat (usually chicken or pork), a couple

bites of veggies or pasta or rice (whatever I make for dinner for my

family) and 1/2 a glass of milk. Then an hour or so before I go to bed,

I will have some carbs like popcorn or pretzels and 1/2 a glass of milk.

I have found that if I eat carbs before bed, it stays with me all night

and I don't wake up in the middle of the night hungry. Sometimes I will

have some fruit or raw carrots instead or some meat sticks, but usually

it's carbs. Now some of this may be different depending on whether I am

working or not and what my work schedule is, but it's a pretty typical

day for me.

As far as vitamins, this is my daily schedule:

Morning: 1 Flintstone chewable vitamin

1 Zinc pill

1 Iron pill

1 Vitamin C chewable

1 Sublingual B-12

1 Vitamin E

Mid Morning: 1 Calcium Citrate capsule

Mid Afternoon: 1 Calcium Citrate capsule

Evening: 1 Flintstone chewable vitamin

1 Iron pill

1 Vitamin C chewable

1 Sublingual B-12

1 Softgel

1 Fiber Choice wafer

Bedtime: 1 Calcium Citrate capsule

I also try to take one dose of a liquid protein supplement somewhere

in the day, usually in the afternoon. I find that it helps with the

afternoon sleepies that I seem to get and it also gets in the rest of my

protein. I usually get in from 60-90 grams of protein a day, depending

on what I eat. Somedays it's more and some days it's less, but it

averages about 70 grams a day. And I always try to get at least 50

ounces of liquid a day (water or Crystal Lite) and usually drink one 32

ounce caffeine free Diet Coke a day, which I don't count towards my

liquid. I also don't count my milk towards my liquid count or any juice

I might have - just water and Crystal Lite. My liquid consumption is

harder now as I can't drink water while I am working - only on my

breaks. But I am trying to water load more during the day before work

and then I have my Diet Coke on the way home and at night before bed.

I know that I don't eat as well as I should or completely follow the

BTC program, but I do the best that I can. I just started back to work

after a 8 year hiatus and it's taking me some doing to get into a good

schedule with my water, exercise, and eating. I always take something

to work with me to have on my break so that I can keep everything level

and then I have something to eat when I get home. It's working well for

me so far, but you need to find what works best for you and your life.

I would also recommend that you maybe get a second opinion from another

wls surgeon about possible problems, especially if the original surgeon

isn't happy with the outcome of your surgery. That to me would indicate

another opinion of what you should do now.

I hope you can find some answers because it would be nice for you to

be able to lose some more of your excess weight. I have lost 170 lbs.

so far and still have another 70-80 lbs. to lose, but then I started at

a very high weight. I would say you should be able to lose at least to

100 lbs. or more, especially if you are eating how and what you should

and your pouch is working the way it should be. It's hard to remember

that this surgery is a tool and we still have to work at it, but it is a

little easier with the surgery than without it. I wish that my surgeon

could have operated on my brain at the same time as my stomach! LOL

Good luck and please let me know how things turn out for you. I will be

curious to see what they say for you since we both had our surgeries at

BTC.

Hugs,

Jerri in MI
