Guest guest
I have been following this group for about two weeks learning a ton. I wanted to share my story and get some advice. I have saline filled silicone implants have had them for about nine years. The last three years have been hell, I have had severe allergic reactions to everything so bad I have almost died twice now. I never had allergic reactions to anything before. I have had flu like symptoms, joint pain, brain fog, severe hair loss, bruising, shortness of breath. All these symptoms have gotten significantly worse over the last three years. So I stumbled across your support group and feel like I've found the answer I've been looking for. I have spent the last 3 years being tested for every auto immune disease that exists. Put on steroids countless times for all my allergic reactions etc. Since finding this support group I have spent hours researching this topic and learning how my implants made me sick. I just want to say thank you to everyone who is a member of this great group you have helped so many more people thank you can imagine. Now to get these implants out. I have made an appointment with Dr. Kolb in georgia for the 29th of April. I did read her book. She is really expensive and now after reading some recent posts about her putting her implants back in I am torn and second guessing myself about choosing her. Can you all please give me any information on the doctors you used and your experiences with them to help me make this decision. I will be getting an explant and a lift. Thank you Florida
Guest guest
~ Dr Kolb had silicone implants that ruptured and she got very ill. She has used her experience to help others. Last I heard she does have salines, dont know why, but more than likely so she could experience them ! One that knows first hand has more compassion......There have been numerous people thru the years explanted by her and absolutely love her work..... Please dont make judgement from questions that have risen that we dont know the real answers to. We dont know why she got salines put in......someone should ask her....... Perhaps she will read this post and respond......I hope so...... Anyway, the number of satisfied people with her and her work is huge......that is important when you seek a surgeon...... You must go with whom ever makes you feel the most comfortable..... but be sure they have a huge history of enblock explants.....and happy patients. Guest guest
I as well have heard wonderful things about Dr. Kolb. I went to Dr. Feng. She was highly recommended to me by Dr. Blais in Canada, was only 6 hours away, and got me in within 2 weeks. If so, her bills would not be so high, but Dede is right we can't assume the worst. So many have praised Dr. Kolb and for explant you really want a skilled surgeon. I've not seen anyone complain about her. She has corrected many people who had bad surgery first time around. The PS may have different views as lot of them don't even believe that you can get sick from them. For example, Dr. F at UCLA is really good, but I don't think he believes that the capsules should be removed, but Dr. F is really good surgeon. As long as they are good at what they do I think that's all you need to have a safe surgery. We cannot dis-credit Dr. Kolb's expertise and professionalism just because she put saline back in her body. She must have personal reason for doing it. Guest guest
Hi , I have been researching all kinds of explant surgeons also. I see that you are in Florida. I know of several women who have used Dr. Barnett in Sarasota. They have all been pleased with her work. Good luck to you on your decision making. I know how hard it is in wanting to find the right one. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that the right one will cross your path!
