Hello all I am now offically one year from my origianal wls, I had A

vbg last year at this time,,Since that date I have been only eating

soft or pureed foods as anything else causes pain and vomiting or

nausea. I have had endoscopys and a larger band put on..Still can

eat any well chewed solids. I have lost 136 lbs from 251 to 115.

Now On Nov 25 I am going to be revised to an RNY to try to get a

larger opening...Pouch size is about 3 ounces.

Does any one have any advise for me..

Oh yes I had to switch surgeons as the original surgeon says well

You can either learn to live the way you are or Ill undo it all and

you can be fat again....My insurance company was outraged and

reccomended I get another opinion with a new surgeon,

First surgeon is supposed to be the tops in his field too! HA!

I am 5'4 " tall down from a size 22 to a size 6 juniors and my bones

stick out like an anorexic, I don't want to lose more weight just

be able to eat more nutrious foods in a small qty.

So what advise should I know before I live as an RNYer???

I have never posted here before but have been reading for quite a

few months.. Thanks for your time..Karin/Weinette

Hi Karin,

I absolutely agree with B. If you are going for a revision to an RNY,

go more distal rather than proximal. From experience...I regained all and

more after my proximal 19 years ago. I had a revision about a year ago and

am now on the way back to my goal. But you will need to commit to the

vitamins and proteins.

end up gaining weight. Be prepared to have to take protein supplements and

vitamins, and have smelly gas tho. I have a friend who had a distal and

then went to have a revision as a proximal because of her malabsorption and

gained ALL of her weight back AND some, and is over 300 lbs now again. She

had been down to a size 2 (5'2 " tall). She is soooooooo unhappy but no

surgeon will touch her as she is too high risk for a third surgery.

up gaining weight. Be prepared to have to take protein supplements and

vitamins, and have smelly gas tho. I have a friend who had a distal and then
