Guest guest
I am a little over one year out from open gastric bypass surgery. I also have a hernia that needs to be repaired. My question is, lately whenever I eat or even drink, I get a feeling of being nauseous (sp?), like whatever I just took in seems to be just sitting there and not moving down. I have also been throwing up alot lately as the food just doesn't seem to want to go down. Does anyone know if this could have something to do with my hernia? Maybe the hernia is blocking the path in my intestines and not letting the food pass through?? Thanks for any responses.

Guest guest
, I am no expert, but I did have a hernia which got blocked about 2 years ago. My symptoms were severe stomach pain in the area of the hernia. The pain seemed to come in waves - like labor pains almost. You could almost time it every 10 minutes or so sometimes. The doctor said it had something with the way the intestines work, trying to move the food through, that it comes in waves. I didn't have nausea or vomiting and never threw up from it. You should definitely have it checked out by your doctor. If it IS a problem with your hernia being blocked, it could be a serious problem and needs attention. If it's not your hernia, something ELSE needs attention! Take care of yourself!! from MD Nausea feeling I am a little over one year out from open gastric bypass surgery.
