Guest guest
Bill Just wanted to let you know that friends of ours just returned from Orlando tonight and said that security and customs was a real bear so please be prepared for much searching. They had been computer picked to be searched which made it a little worse but said many were going through quite an ordeal each time they boarded or changed flights. Complete baggage search with all things removed from the bags and handled by staff, all carry on's dumped and searched, all children's shoes removed and checked and every item checked to see what is in it. So if things can't be seen it will be dumped. Any flights going in and out of USA are more heavily searched. She said they had to be at the airport 4 hours before flight and things did get a little hectic while the lines were, at times, 15 to 20 or more people waiting to go through. She said many people had clean and dirty clothes well mixed by the time they made it through. So take heed when you pack so that everything is easily searchable. Have a super time and make sure to give all our Aussie's extra hugs from Kansas. Please take tons of pictures for us. I'll be thinking about you and knowing what a great time you will be having. I know Anne has some special plans for you. Can't wait to hear all about your travels when you get home. Sally

Guest guest
Sally, ) When I went to Las Vegas, I was one of the ones picked to take off my shoes and get the extra special search ) I guess the white beard made them think I was Santa and trying to smuggle something ) We did follow the airline guidelines on arrival, etc. It still bothers me that people carry on so much stuff. All of the carry ons were X-rayed, but the shear volume of carry on luggage is awful. You used to be able to hang up your jacket, now it has to be thrown into a compartment and 5 bags cramed in on top of it. The compartments are cramed so tight that they pop open in flight. It is a shame that people do not go ahead and check their luggage as a courtesy to other passengers. One guy bashed a older woman upside the head with his carry on in front of us, and did not even say he was sorry. ) But he had an american flag on his carry on ) Great image! I hear it is WINDY out your way today. Take care, Bill Werre

Guest guest
Hi Everybody. I have been watching on the sidelines for a little while trying to understand as much as I can. I am not a Hypochondriac, but have been unwell for quite a few years. This includes Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABs), in 1981 at age 46 and again in 1997 at age 62. My Eldest Son died last year age 42 from the same thing. I was diagnosed as having CFSalong the way then Fibromyalgia in about 1992. I have had what I thought was exhaustive tests for just about everything (I thought ) that it is possible to be tested for. Recently I read on a site the symptoms for PAF and some of the other problems and they sound as if I was writing everything down from my own problems. More recently I have been getting short breathed and puffing and panting for no apparent reason. Previously I felt uncomfortable with the amount of air I could breath when I lay down, but this is now at any time. I am told I have somewhat high presure in the Right Heart Chamber, but so far do not know why. I guess this is becomming rather lengthy, but to cut the story short, are there any tests I could discuss with my GP which would eliminate any of the problems discussed in the site. I had a Brain scan done a little while back, and the Specialist said, I did not have Parkinsons, but the Brain Scan looked the same as one for somebody who did. Unfortunately there is little recognition of CFS / Fibromyalgia in Australia. The Rheumatologists have taken over Fibromyalgia, and the Psychiatrists have claimed CFS as a Psych. Problem. It appears that the Government is happyn to leave the situation like this, so appart from a couple of dedicated establishments little reseaerch is being done. My Specialist has just closed his practice towards the end of last year, and I do not think there will be another person as dedicated to take his place. I hope I am not out of order in writing like this to this site, but I feel more than a bit desperate at the present time. I forgot to mention I have been on a large dose of Narcotic painkillers for over, (I think from memory, which is very poor) 7 years now, and often think it would be a good idea to move to a country that has more liberal Euthinasia Laws. My respect and regards to all those people out there who keep fighting these things and make light of them. Bill Pilgrim, Australia.
