Guest guest
I had a stoma stenosis and a marginal ulcer.. I had the marginal ulcer first.. My symptoms started out with constant nausea;/ occasional vomiting, abdominal pain, water and everything tasted awful... mostly like metal, and my blood pressure started fluctuating due to internal bleeding. My surgeon didnt listen when I described the above symptoms, so my ulcer perforated and I ultimately ended up with peritonitis. Dont wait around if you think you may have an ulcer.. see your doc and get meds asap. I had a stoma stenosis at three weeks post op first revision.. my stoma was so stenotic that a strand of spaghetti couldnt have passed through. My GI doc did an EGD and dilated the stoma and everything was fine for some time..I had to be redilated a few months later, but the stenosis wasnt as severe. I also experienced a stenotic small bowel .. six inches below my stoma.. The surgeon, who I flew to see and get his expert opinion on my constant nausea/ vomiting, was able to do an EGD and dilate this through the scope as well. I hope that this helps you some.. Take care Hugs, from GA open RNY 12/12/00 Revision 04/18/01 Revision 02/07/02 St wt.... 392 Cw........205 Wt loss... -
