Guest guest
Took Jerry to the doctor's this afternoon and they said it was an infection. The antibiotic was already started so they sent us home to continue meds and watch for signs that the infection was getting worse. He is still running a temp. of 100.5 and doctor said not to worry unless it reaches 101 or more. Poor guy is miserable. I am having a difficult time getting him to take liquids and eating is out of the question. If it is not better tomorrow I think we head back to the doctor again. And of course, this would be the week our 4 yr. old grandchild is staying with us. Meanwhile, life goes on and we all pray for a better tomorrow. Thank you all for your words of advice and incouragement. Jan
Guest guest
Dear Jan: Normally you need not worry unless a temperature is 101, but remember that with MSA, normal temperature is usually about 97 so 100 is very high. If he is dehydrated, MAKE them rehydrate him intravenously. It is VERY important. Barbara

Guest guest
Greetings Jan! Jerry's doctor mentioned: > ... not to worry unless it reaches 101 or more. Here's the kicker (and why we all need to at least keep periodic records): What is Jerry's normal body temperature? If his normal body temp is 98.6, then what the doctor noted is probably true. If his normal body temp is 96-97, then the doctor needs to take that into consideration. Just a thought if you head back to the doctor. Though I agree that with antibiotics it is sometimes necessary to wait and see. Just my 2 cents for the day. Regards, =jbf= B. Guest guest
I thouroughly second 's point. While on the subject, does anyone have any medical journal articles about body temp and PD+ syndromes? I still have 2 doctors that need an education on their level. Fortunatly, while in the hospital, my PCP's father had PD and he put on the charts to give me tylanol if my body temp. ever reached 98.0 or above. Guest guest
Dear Jan, I am praying for you and Jerry. I hope the antibiotics work and he is feeling better very soon. Thank you for keeping us informed as we are concerned. God bless, Belinda > Took Jerry to the doctor's this afternoon and they said it was an > infection.
