You don't have to remove your taste buds. A couple years ago I heard a

radio interview about some gum that makes you unable to taste sugar.

Somehow it blocks the reception of the sweet taste, making anything

sweet taste like mud. I ordered some and even received it but I never

got up the nerve to try it. I think it was called sugarblocker gum and

I ordered it online.

I ate pre-WLS for the same reason I eat now - overactive taste buds. I

am

convinced that I eat because of the way things taste. There are some

days

that all I want to eat are carbs or sugar, don't care if I have any

protein

at all. Face it, protein just doesn't taste as good or go down as easy

as

carbs. If I could find someone that would do it, I would have my

tastebuds

removed or totally deadened permanently. I would be willing to give up

ever

tasting anything again if I could lose all the weight I want to lose and

keep

it off. And I'm convinced that if I couldn't taste anything, now that I

don't

get hungry, I could eat exactly the amounts I need to stay alive, of the

" healthy " foods, and wouldn't eat anything that wasn't good for me. Why

won't

anybody do anything about the taste buds?
