Guest guest
I'm 44 with 8 & 9 year olds. Why do you think my goals are to learn to ski and to go horseback riding? Would any sane middle ager do this if they weren't pushed into it by their kids?! Guest guest
I had my first baby when I was 16 (put him up for adoption), and my second baby when I was 32 (had her at home and you couldn't take her away from me!) I know to never say never, but if I'm going to have a third baby, I really hope it happens before I'm 48!!! LOL I am 35 now. So yes, I'm the mother to an 18.5 year old and an almost 3, which makes me feel a little old sometimes. Joanne, my toddler, keeps me in play mode and down 177 pounds, I feel younger than I can ever remember feeling. Having a baby in high school and dealing with all that stuff does tend to change one's outlook on life. Actually, I suppose it's totally possible for me to be a grand(birth)mother already, but unless my son makes contact with me via the adoption agency or some other route, I won't ever know. The reason I ask, is that we really want to have another baby (preferably a boy :-) ), or adopt. We are thinking adoption is probably the only way since I did have my tubes tied 5 years ago, and I am 42 years old. However, I keep having dreams that I have gotten a reversal or I " reherse " the speech to the GYN on " why " I want a reversal. Then, I wonder if it's not " safe " . What will I do to my body? Can I carry a child healthily after getting so sick? B

Guest guest
I'm 39. I have a 12 year old daughter and two sons, 8 and 3. I'm five months pregnant with number. four. I didn't feel old until I got pregnant and my OB started with the amnio and wanting me to get my tubes tied because " you're up there in age " . Funny part is, four and a half month ago I was telling my husband that I wouldn't even mine one more after this one! I have a step granddaughter. My husband is 46 and has children who are 23 and 20. I didn't even feel old with the step grandbaby! Take care, Pamela Open RNY 21Sept00/down 185 lbs " Baby K " is due 20March03!!!

Guest guest
Ok, I've got to jump in here now....I'm 44, have daughters 24, 21, and a son 10....and a granddaughter, 4. My 21 year old has the 4 year old....you do the math. It was a very traumatic thing to be a granny at 40...and her a mom at 16...but it has turned out WONDERFULLY. The daughter is graduating in December with a finance degree, Summa Cum Laude, and has been on full scholarship all thru college. She has already been hired with a growing company here in an entry-level mgmt position, and they are working around her last semester of college. We made them wait until they graduated high school to get married and they are doing GREAT! He is waiting to hear if he's been accepted into law school upon his graduation in May. God really does know best...never in my wildest dreams, 5 years ago, could I have foreseen their futures as being so rosy. And me??? I'm a cool granny with blonde hair, (no longer gray), have completed 5 triathlons and have just begun training for my first marathon. Ran a 5 mile race on Saturday in the cold rain. Such fun!!! People who hear I have a granddaughter exclaim " You look TOO YOUNG to be a grandma!! " I just smile and say Thanks!! If only they knew me three years ago, at 306 lbs, gray headed and barely getting myself out of bed each day....Now, I have a new body, a new career, a new outlook.....but same old hubby...going on 26 years in December.
