Guest guest
I had my original WLS (gastric distal bypass) in 1993, then had a revision performed by Dr. Marema 8/9/02. I had reached goal about 3 years after the original surgery, maintained another 3-4 years, then began gaining again: 1/2 of my overall loss. I was still 100 pounds to the good, and discovered I needed repair work done. I am losing abain: down from 258 to 213 as of yesterday. In my revision my intestines weren't modified, but my stomach was-silastic ring and all. What a blessing this has been. Can I participate here folks? I am looking for others with more seasoned opinions-lessons learned from experience. Sue in AK packederm@...
Guest guest
You had you surgery in Florida but don't live here???? I think the silastic ring is great. So many people have their stoma stretch to where it is not useful. I believe this prevents that. I just don't know what happens long term.
