Guest guest
As someone who uses Botox injections for medical reasons, I am incensed at the newly publicized fashion and approval to treat wrinkles with Botox. It would be OK if these idiots who can afford to spend money on such frivolous things would help bring the price down, but no, Allergan is going to put on a multimillion dollar ad campaign to push cosmetic use. Do you think that will bring the price down for those of us who need it medically ? Nooooooo. The price is now $1000 for 1000 units, the dose most often needed for large muscle groups. I know that this treatment is or can be something that MSA patients, among many others, will want to try. Is this responsible action from a drug company? And the reason I know the price will not go down, is that Allergan is the prime producer of lens implants to replace cataracts. Have they reduced prices with the zillions of implants they have sold to people undergoing this wonderful surgery (by the way, which would not have been perfected without the use of animal models) ? Nooooooooooo. Another by the way, Myobloc, made by a European manufacturer (the only other source) produces SEVERE pain during injection. Believe me!
