Guest guest
I've been to the site you posted, before, cool pics. SAGES.org has a new section, it is under links. It has the presentations from the 2000 conference. There are several presentations on adhesions, the costs, the treatment, the complications, etc. You need realplayer to view the presentations. Heavy on stats, rather dry. What was interesting was a figure that was put forth, operating room time costs anywhere from 30 to 45 dollars a minute, WOW. Now add the cost of adhersions in terms of added operating time. Expensive They are working on various products to combat the formation of adhesions. Whether lap surgery does in fact decrease the potential for formation of adhesions remains to be seen. There was a thread a while back on gloves used intraoperatively, interesting that talc has been cited as a potential causative agent in adhesion formation, one of the reasons they switched to different kinds of surgical gloves along with the risks of cumulative latex exposure. deb
Guest guest
Sorry but you still can't post here. If you go to ossg then you can ask. But if you are in pain I suggest you call your surgeon and get an appointment. Rasley mailto:drasley@...
