Pam,

Unfortunately that type of person will just get a new name from Yahoo or

Excite or someone else and strike again. The person learned just enough

about MSA (although they confuse it with MS also) to make up a story that

sounds plausible to someone desperate for a cure. Everyone here must realize

that there are people who will lie for profit or even to advance their own

ideas on the internet. It is NEVER justifiable to make up stories and put

them out as SPAM or chain letters, a lie is a lie and it is wrong.

As you say, when a cure is found, this list will know about it first and

there will be 50 emails proclaiming it. If a cure had been found in 1992,

Charlotte would be alive today (even if I had to go to China to find it).

Take care, Bill Werre

Yeah, no kidding... he actually subscribed last night just before he

sent that and his email already bounces. He also uploaded stuff to

that website he cited last night as well... check the root directory

at http://www.geocities.com/ericzemann That bank account where he

wants you to send money though can probably be traced.

Bill,

You are so right. So many of us rely on what you and Pam say. We know

that you either one of you would never lead us astray. You have

always been there to help us no matter what are questions are. I just

want to thank both of you very much and the rest of board for all

your caring and help from the bottom of my heart.

With love and God's blessings,

Pam,

Good for you. We don't need someone like this on our list and making a bad

influence on people reading our list. We all give when we can and what we

can for research.

PAM, more thanks for taking care of us. We simply do not have time or

patience for depraved foolishness.

Thanks Pam-Belinda speaks for me, too-I'm new to group, was referred by the

hospital at Vanderbilt University. This disease is so devastating to our

families, that it appalls me that someone would capitalize on us in our

weakest moments. We are all trying hard to cope and I've shared some of your

stories with my family as it makes me feel we are not alone-no one we know

has MSA. Thanks for watching out for us. Cindy B.

Pam,

I also reported that website to geocites as an ad which violates their terms

of service and gave them the money site as a reference. They also violated

the terms of service when they sent a chain email referencing the site. Did

you report this incident to Yahoo groups also? I was sort of expecting an

answer to my complaint.

Hugs, Bill.

Bill I forwarded the entire letter to the yahoo abuse site but have not

received an acknowledgment yet.

It was a bit of a shock to see it but there are all kinds of nuts roaming

loose.

Yes I did and I asked them to get back to me. I don't know how long these

sorts of things take though.

Greetings Bill!

Unfortunately, many ISPs fail to follow their own policies. I've found it

sometimes takes contact with a manager before action is taken. That can be

hard to do with ISPs that like to operate anonymously.
